Hi, 1st timer here. After still birth of my daughter last November we're TTC again but DP has problems performing on demand so we are using conception indicator sticks and syringes. When we get the smiley face on the stick we do AI that day and on the next 2 days but I was wondering whether to try to do one maybe 24-48 before ovulation, then on the day itself, and 1 more after that.
Has anyone done this? Any advice for a desperate to be a mum. Thank you in advance.

hi, i don't really know much about AI i'm afraid, we had one go that didn't work and went back to the old fashioned method. however having conceived several times now my best is to have a look at the book "taking control of your fertility" by Toni Weschler , it really helped me - i used it in conjuction with the ovulation sticks and it was really good at helping me work out my most fertile days leading up to ovulation, in fact it helped me pinpoint the exact day of ovulation - something that temp taking and ovulation sticks have never done.

also inseminating more often might not be the answer as you partners sperm will lose some quality with each try. have you been tracking your ovulation for long? do you know how regular your cycle is? our method used to be sex every two days up until ovulation - sure it was stressful and we couldn't stand the sight of eachother after ovulation but it got the job done :D

seriously though, the book is great and i think it will really help. good luck x

No experience of AI but from what I understand of conception generally before ovulation is how you want to go not on and after. There is a whole thread somewhere here on the turkey baster issue. I'll try and find it....

I can't link right now but just go back one page and find 'anyone ever used the turkey...' you will see it.
