One of those pregnancy test threads!

Period is late (36th day, usually 30-31 days). Did two tests yesterday. As I did the first one, I thought it was positive but then it seemed negative. Both have a very faint line BUT this was after 10 minutes so is this just an evaporation line?

I would take it as an evap as i have had this before. If you were PG it would likely be showing up by now, however you never know - I would wait a few days and go to GP for free PG test! Good luck.

I think that evaporation lines are sort of grey, while positive lines have some colour. When I tested last week I got a very pale pink line that didn't appear straight away, but it was there at about 5 mins. My GP wants to do another test in a couple of days for me to make sure I am pg. Maybe some people's hormone levels rise quicker than others.

I suggest you wait a couple of days then test again

best way to find out is to get a clearblue digital, it comes up with pregnant or not pregnant, so you know one way or the other.

Yeah, you're right, think if no period by tomorrow, I'll get a digital. Thanks for the advice

I've just been though all this! I got faint lines on 2 clear blues then a negative on a fisrt response then a positive first response.... wait a couple of days and retest. as all the girls on hear kept trying to tell me (and i wouldnt believe them) a line is a line.

I keep looking at them! (the faint positive tests that is). I've never had a 'watermark' thingy before, if it is that. Will try again in a few days. Thanks spod!

My have to get DH to get another test on his way home so I can test again first thing.
Am quite excited now. It is weird, because as I looked at the first test I so thought it was positive.
Anyway, we shall see.

god, already my spelling is rubbish! What clearblue did you use? is it the one that has a '+' symbol if you're preg? cos mine was, and the vertical ine was narrow and feint but the horizonal was bright and wider which is what confused me, but it was definately a line

OMG, that's exactly it. Same test, exactly the same result. Was wondering if because it was narrow, maybe it was just the evaporation line

thats what i thought!... so i did another CB test, exactly the same, came on here and everyone said it was a BFP, i refused to belive... 4 tests later I'm now sure I'm pregnant! well I feel so sick so i should have known better! my thread is under conception 'unsure about test result' ... can't do link as pc so slow at the moment. you must be preg!

JakB, are you there? what are you gonna do? test test test! (I'm in no position to talk, i couldnt read the test either!!!)

Done two more, one totally negative (no line). The other one gone funny. One thick line going horizontally and another line at another angle, as if the test has gone odd. Who knows?
Actually FEEL pregnant now!

You'll have to do another-go buy one quick!

NEGATIVE! The old 'not pregnant' message on the digital test I did this morning. Oh well. Just really weird experience with tests, not had that before. Pregnancy symptoms obviously intense PMT!

At least you know either way it has happend to me a couple of times too.

with my first preg both the doctors and hospital tests came up neg but with a very faint line. both were announced to be neg though. they did an internal exam and decided they couldn't feel a baby, sent me for a scan, tummy scan showed nothing so she did an internal one and hey presto.... 10 week old feotus! some babies are just awkward! try the first response test, it gave me a faint pos at about 10 weeks in my second preg.

Got period! After all that drama!
