Here goes my 1st post!

So, on July 17th I am getting my coil taken out and my and DH are going to start trying for a family - all ok so far . . . .

Then today my brother and Sister-in-law announce they are 3 months pregnant. Yes, I am overjoyed at the thought of becomming an Aunt but now I'm worried that I should hold our plans so not to steal their limelight.

What do people think??? Am I being silly?? My DH had spinal surgery and has been off work for 6 months so our life has been on hold - TTC is what we have both been planning and looking forward to and now he is better and going back to work, the timing is finally right. . . . . or at least it was until todays announcment!

Don't be silly! Go for it! Good lu8ck!

Tbh even of u fall pg straight away (which is unlikely) she will have had 3 months of the limelight before you announce your pregnancy. Go ahead with your plans, don't put your life on hold for others!

PineappleBed · 10/07/2012 16:40

What? No go for it. They'd have to be mental to have any objection.

If there's one thing I learnt when TTC it's that no one else is actually that interested! (sorry :o) I take it you are not going to announce that you are TTC so if you fall pg straight away then it'll be lovely that the cousins are close in age, if, in all probability it takes you a few months to fall of then you wont be stealing limelight as new baby will be here by then and it'll be a few more months before everyone gets to go gooey over another new baby :)
Good luck TTC, it is an exciting time :)

Ok, so I'm getting all the same responses my DH has said! Making me feel a lot better about it all :)

I just have a very precious Sister-in-Law so overley worried about consequenses!

I suppose it would be nice to have cousins growing up around the same age.

GO FOR IT!

My sister and I are pregnant together! We started trying, then she announced she was pregnant, then I fell pregnant really quickly! She is now 12 days overdue and I am due next month Grin

When I say 'we', I mean me and DH!

This is both mine and DSis' firt baby!

Sheep2345 · 12/07/2012 11:12

Here's hoping she's as positive as all you Mumsnetters!

She has not told her SIL about the pregnancy yet as she has a 10 day old and does not want to take the attention away from her.

Maybe if I do get BFP without too many months passing by I will abide to the 3 month rule and not blab too early :o

Cousins about the same age are great.
I didn't see enough of mine because they lived a long way away but it was huge fun when we did.

My sister and I found out about our first pregnancies within a week of each other! It was brilliant being pregnant together and even better now that we have two children the same age.
