Hi all

I had a MMC at 9 weeks at the beginning of May and am now TTC again. I have a 23 month old DD and this was my first MC. I remember TTC and conception with my DD being exciting and joyful (my last pg was a surprise), but now I'm just scared that it will all go wrong again. I know that chances are it will be OK this time, but if anyone has any concrete examples of this, please reassure me...!

Thanks so much

Yes. I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks (after already having one child) and conceived the very next month. Didn't bother waiting and now have fantastic healthy boy. It is highly unlikely your miscarriage will have any bearing on future pregnancies and very very likely that you are back at square one, with nothing (physically) untoward as a result of it.

Same here, had a mc at about 5/
6 weeks and conceived again straight away. Our wee boy was born at the weekend (also have an older DC).

You will understandably be more nervous, but I found I relaxed after the scan.

Good luck

My 1st pg was a mc at around 7 weeks. I was devastated but then went on to conceive DD after 4 months of ttc. I have to admit when I was ttc 2nd time round I was a bit of a mess of nerves and even when I was pg I felt more distanced and nervous that something would go wrong again and found it hard to bond with my bump until she was actually born a healthy baby - almost like I was protecting myself from getting too attached from her to save myself should anything happen, but all is well. I agree with teuchter - I paid to have 3 private scans whilst pg, 2 of which in the first couple of months in addition to the NHS scans just to keep my mind at ease and help me relax that everything was fine. I think having a mc does 'taint' future pgs as you are more aware of how things can go wrong and it's not just other people it happens it, but it doesn't mean you won't have another happy and healthy LO.
