Morning One, Morning All.

How are we all?

Mags good for you Wink and hurrah for the golden egg.

Keep I really am hoping AF stays away, and that the hospital appointment will be a case of confirming what we already know.

Sparks twas me with the twins announcement. Could it be the same people?

Beedle this talk sounds intriguing. I know nothing about fancy stuff like that though. And don't even get me started on accronyms....

I can't remember what else I wanted to say, as it is all on the other page, but hello to all you lovely brookers.

CupcakesAndCocktails · 04/07/2012 10:39

Morning everyone

I am shattered after a busy night at work. Only 2 weeks until holiday. We are off to sunny Wales so am desperately hoping the weather improves.

Keep am brooking that AF stays away.
Ironic BFP coming your way!

Geek and Beedle I am completely confused by this office speak! good luck with twerp face today Geek

Maybe & Sparks I'm totally fed up of pregnancy announcements. My new fear is that my sister will get preggo. She is only 20 but got diagnosed as PCOS recently. Because of that & my situation she is starting to worry about having babies herself. She is 10 years younger than me!!!

My best friends baby is also due in 2 weeks. Ive been feeling awful about it & probably haven't been there for her as much as I should have. She lives far away but I haven't called as much as I normally would as it's been so painful. I know she understands but I still feel guilty. Ttc is a complex business Grin

Imps I'll try your mantra of thinking of it as a brooking babe Smile

Biscuitsandtea · 04/07/2012 11:17

Just nipping in to mark mt place so I can continue to stalk y'all Smile

keepitgoing · 04/07/2012 11:32

cup i am dreading my sister announcing she is pg. She has a 20 month old, and got pg second month of trying. She's 3 years older than me. I know she's going to start trying soon, and imagine it will happen fast for her. Though I don't want it to take ages for her, I know I will just feel awful when she gets updiffed in seconds. She knows all that we're going through though, but I just don't think you can understand if you've not had any problems yourself.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/07/2012 11:58

I don't know whats going on, MN keeps eating my posts!!

Cups and Keep it is so so tough. I knwo that I haven't been there at all for my cousin, partly because she is quite smug and patronising about it, but partly because I don't feel I can be if I want to keep myslef sane. Does that make sense?

keepitgoing · 04/07/2012 12:12

Totally maybes. Tbh I think people have lots of others being excited round the birth etc, so am trying not to feel too bad about my friend. I hate smug. Seriously wtf. They have not done something right or better than us.

I hate my body now. Stupid body, do what you're made for!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/07/2012 12:26

I know. I hate patronising too. Rah.

Don't hate your body. It will perform a miracle soon, I just know it. Though I hate my body too Wink

CupcakesAndCocktails · 04/07/2012 12:26

I know it's the smugness that I hate. I also hate people giving me "helpful advice". A friend of the family recently told us to get a move on as we are not getting any younger Hmm DH replied that we would like children but haven't been blessed yet (a much more measured response than I wanted to give!). Instead of this shutting her up she then said well I took folic acid and got pregnant straight away so maybe you should try that. Luckily DH moved me away before I had chance to reply.

I love the perception that if your not getting pregnant easily you must be stupid. I'm surprised no one has advised us to try having sex without contraception yet Grin

JenFraggle · 04/07/2012 12:34

Some news on PSEPP thread

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/07/2012 12:37

Oh Jen what amazing news. This means we need another replacement doesn't it.

Brookers, line up those pee sticks....

keepitgoing · 04/07/2012 12:40

That's it cup - the condoms are just getting in the way!!! D'oh
:) :)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/07/2012 12:46

Cups my cousin told me to have plenty of sex. And relax. She should write a book.

SecretSparkle · 04/07/2012 13:06

I totes hadnt realised that we had to relax and have lots of sex!! no wonder Im not pregnant yet!!

Oh and my brother gets married on saturday and I just know they'll start trying straight away!! Reckon my SIL might have a third as well, as her stock response has gone from 'I dont want anymore' to 'we'll have to see what happens'

lets not hate our bodies that sounds litte harsh (although 100%accurate)

Geeklette · 04/07/2012 13:23

Aww what lovely news on a day so many brookers are feeling down.

When I got my coffee this lunchtime, there were three pregnant ladies in the queue and the barista's pregnant body was on the verge of bursting out of her uniform. Not that she was huge, she just hadn't yet bothered upgrading from her normal non-pregnant uniform top. The risk of buttons popping had me in fear for my life!

On the subject of us being too stupid to get pregnant, the first time we SWI last month, MrGeek was so proud until I asked him if he had checked that the lube he'd used was non-spermicidal. The look on his face was priceless!

CupcakesAndCocktails · 04/07/2012 13:33

Right so far I've learned that to get preggo we need to:-

  1. Stop using condoms/taking the pill
  2. Relax
  3. Use sperm friendly lube
  4. Take folic acid/pregnacare
  5. Have sex a lot

Now there is nothing stopping me! A BFP will be mine in approximately 3 weeks. Who's with me? Grin

ScarlettInSpace · 04/07/2012 13:34
  1. eat chocolate cake daily
NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/07/2012 13:38

I have a slight alteration to number 1, as I did manage to get preggo on the pill. So maybe we should all start taking it.....

  1. Brook no argument
CupcakesAndCocktails · 04/07/2012 13:39

Aha so is that where we have all been going wrong Maybe?

CupcakesAndCocktails · 04/07/2012 13:40
ScarlettInSpace · 04/07/2012 13:40

Are these the chapter titles for our book?

clickingtock · 04/07/2012 13:40

Brookers - I have to add to the misery caused by the interferers/fertility commentators - I have discovered to my utter rage that even when you finally manage to get pregnant and people know it took a while they say things like 'Oh it must have been because you gave up and relaxed.' Or, in the case of the NHS fertility consultant I saw 3 days before I got pregnant: 'It's because you came to see me.' Yes, that's right and you basically told me to give up because of my age, remember?!

As if I ever effin gave up for a moment though I bloody well wished I hadn't had to carry on ifkwim!! I took a series of actions that led to finally getting to the bottom of the problem (although I appreciate that this isn't necessarily doable in each case) and I made damn sure we gave it every best possible chance and all in all it was really HARD WORK for around a year of my life. I also feel better educated on human sexual reproduction than I did for my degree. So please eff off with your know-it all platitudes and sheer fertility IGNORANCE.

Phew. That feels better. You have my heartfelt empathy on this matter.

ScarlettInSpace · 04/07/2012 13:41

I just read in my Zita West book that spminal fluid is ejaculated at 28 MPH Shock

ScarlettInSpace · 04/07/2012 13:42

*seminal obviosuly. spminal is a mix of that and sperm lol

clickingtock · 04/07/2012 13:44

Oh and one more thing, Brookers, please don't forget an item for your list: '7. Eat walnuts' as advised by a GP who told me there's nothing you can do about a poor sperm analysis result. Yeah. Right.

clickingtock · 04/07/2012 13:45

Goodness me - those spermies are as fast as an Emperor dragonfly or my gran on her motorbike. Grin Grin
