Do antibiotics affect the contraceptive pill or not - have guidelines changed?

Because I've noticed the GP no longer recommends extra precautions if I'm prescribed antibiotics now.

Yes the guidelines changes. Only more unusual antibiotics affect the pill, not the standard ones like amoxicillin and fluclox so they have updated the advice a while ago.

Unless the antibiotics upset your stomach in which case condoms/abstain until 7 days of pill back on board.
