Hi all,

I'm new to this and I'm looking for advice. There are probably hundreds of posts on this topic but this is mine.
TTC for 3 cycles. I call them cycles as they're normally 23 days.
The first attempt I definitely had a very funny taste in my mouth, but was abroad and probably drank too many gin martinis and nothing worked out.
Second cycle- DH was in Brazil during the window of opportunity.
Third cycle I had a funny taste 4 days after ovulation that hasn't gone away. I have bloated up like a balloon and have minor cramps.
This morning 2 days after my period was due I took a pregnancy test which came out negative (clear blue digital)

Wtf?
Any advice?
Hopefully seeing doctor, but they are useless in terms of appointment availability.

Hi,

Can you explain what you mean by a 5th percentile? That is lost on me.

Some people don't get a positive until a few days after their period is due, some people never get one. Your GP should be able to do a blood test to check.

Exactly what euro chick said. I don't get a positive before 6 weeks, even a blood test at 5 weeks (by scan dates) came back HCG

Hi team,
Thanks for the advice. Will update once I have been to the doctors.
My husband is far more keen than I am. The main reason I am concerned is that I'm traveling off to China for two weeks with work, and the last thing I want to do is pick up a nasty bug.
Yuck

I'm a bit confused why you are going to see a doctor. You have been trying for 2 months/cycles. Your period is a few days late. I'd suggest waiting and retesting in a week or so before seeing your doctor. Cycles aren't necessarily the same length each time. Your ovulation dates might have been later than normal. It really is very, very rare to not get a positive pregnancy test in pregnancy.
