ttc and lose weight

Bunny2 and I have decided to be proactive and lose some weight before conceiving (hopefully!).

Before becoming pregnant for the first time I was a size 12 and weighed 10 stone. I now fluctuate anywhere between 11 and 12 stone. My weight gain is purly down to the love of sugar, which replaced a nicotine habit. Over the last 18 months since birth of ds2, I have lost and gained the same 10lbs about 4 times.

My goal is to lose 14 pounds in 7 weeks (end January) by cutting out bread, pasta and sugar. Other than that I am going to eat everything and take some more exercise. I will weigh myself tomorrow morning.

Anybody like to join us? You don't have to be ttc either.

just wanted to say GOOD LUCK!!! I'm convinced losing weight helped me conceive - I lost 3 stone in the year before I finally got up the duff - although this only got me down to a size 18..!! Sadly half this weight is now back on me - and can't possibly all be baby... I'll be starting a losing weight thread in the Autumn then...

Well, just got back from Tesco with some nice wine and cheese so not dieting tonight. I have lost a few pounds over the last two weeks, all weight gained during my last pregnancy (I gained half a stone even though I miscarried at 10 weeks). Now I am back into my jeans but they are a 16. Before ds I was a size 14 ish, I am 5'11 so I didnt look big, just tall. Now I'm a 16 (only generously cut 16s though and desperate to be a 14 once again. Dont have scales so cant actually weigh myself right now but I reckon I should realistically aim to lose 1 stone, more would be fab though.

I have cut out take-aways, chocolate, biscuits and most fats (Quark is really nice spread on toast instead of butter). Cant/wont give up wine but I do try to limit it, well, sort of.

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL!!!!

Great idea, great plan. Would love to join, but I am due to give birth this month and then will be breastfeeding. You're lucky you have each other for support, bunny2 and eyelash.

Well I did my weigh-in yesterday and weighed 11'4'', which I was pleased about. Def. a stone would do it for me. I have been as good as gold but then had a chocolate bar and glass of wine tonight - I do have excuse (see new miscarriage thread). But boys in gym creche tomorrow while I work it off!

Bunny2 - you are so tall so must look slim at size 16!

Ooh Eyelash, havent been called slim for a while! I'm ok when the 16s are a comfortable fit but when they are a bit tight I bulge over the top and look pretty awful, that's when I know I need to go up a size! I am in a 16 denim skirt today and it is very comfortable. . Next stop 14s!! I'd love to lose around 1 and half stone before conceiving again. How was the gym?
