Clearblue really really faint line...

So I am in hosp waiting for wisdom teeth removal. Lucky have some private cover, so in niace hops. Told DH to not to worry abt coming with me as have had tooth removal before when I just rocked up to nhs surgery and they removed in the chair.

However, it is full on. Have a room, in gown, had blood pressure and loads of questions. Feeling a bit wobbly and alone.

Then had to take a pregancy test as standard procedure. And there is a really really faint vertical line on the clearblue test. The nursers here dismissed it and frankly looked at me like I was mad.

However, did get a faint line with DS on first test.

However this is a thin line, rather than a the normal width faint line...so guessing it is a red herring.

However we are TTC, so part of me excited.

Have resecued the test out of the bin (where the nurse through it), so I can keep it/show DH.

Not really sure why I am posting. Just wanted to tell somebody...

A faint line is still a line honey, all my dds were faint lines x

PhyllisDoris · 22/06/2012 13:15

Doesn't it say on the instructions that a faint line is still a line? I think you're preggers! :)

watersign76 · 22/06/2012 13:38

Thanks for the replies.

It doesn't look quiet as strong as the faint lines on the instructions.

Worried about the nurses coming in to find me fiddling about with it/holding it up to the light etc!!

But I guess a test in a few days will tell me one way or the other.

Gosh, what a way to find out (if I am!).

Thanks again, feel less alone/mad!

Is it coloured or grey? I think coloured is a positive no matter how faint, evap lines are grey.

I hope you are! Just to be rubbish though and say that clearblue tests are notorious around MN for giving false positives :( Blue dye tests are generally frowned upon... (assume is blue and they don't have pink ones too?!)

Get yourself a nice First response early test and test with first morning wee. Hopefully you'll get a nice clear answer you want!

good luck!

Thanks.

Back home. Looks completely negative now :( DH bless him did a good job of humouring me looking at it, but couldn't see it.

Wasn't convinced...but was hopeful. Was just a weird senario!

Will test in a few days. Have a first response ready and waiting!!

Thanx

so would it make a difference to you having an anaesthetic, or what?
or do they just test routinely so they can charge your insurer an extortionate amount for doing it?

watersign76 · 22/06/2012 23:15

I guess so time, it sounded like they were giving them to all the childbearing age women. And as wisdom teeth then to come through ins 20s/30s, that is a number of unneeded tests that they can claim for!

Am grateful for the cover (through DH work) but it did feel so over the top. Had a "host" take me to my room to show me the features. Just a shame the NHS cannot do similar.

Will you let us know in a few days?Smile

slatternlymother · 24/06/2012 19:04

FWIW, I had 2 pale dots along the line. Tested 1 week later and was officially up the stick Grin

bouncysmiley · 24/06/2012 19:28

Congratulations - I hope they didn't go ahead with any non-pregnancy friendly procedures after that!

watersign76 · 24/06/2012 21:36

Update is sadly my period arrived today :( Oh well.

On the upside my DH could see the line the daylight yesterday so I felt slightly less desperate mad.

Thanks for your interest, it would have been a great story if it had worked out.

Oh well, on to the next month ttc.
