Anyone TTC#3?

Anyone else trying to conceive their third dc? September last year I decided after four years of saying I wanted to stick at two that actually I would like a third, DH happy to go for it and amazingly got pg that month, sadly ended in a mc at 6 weeks. It put us off so didn't really try again properly until January. No luck Jan, feb or March so decided that was it and no more because I was getting silly and stressed over it etc.

Cue June when I decide actually really really would love a third, DH agrees so this has been the first month properly ttc. Not due af for about another 9 or 10 days (vary between 28 and 31 days) which seems ages away still.

I turned 30 yesterday so am hoping I get a late birthday present in the form of a bfp but don't feel very hopeful.

Anyway who else is ttc#3 and are we mad!? Grin

Hi Furry.

We're trying for a third. This is our first month trying too. With the other two we hadn't properly started trying so I am Quite new at this.

And yes, we are mad! Grin

Yes! And yes my fear is that we are mad and I will upset the dynamic of my family. Currently have 2 ds age 5 and 7. If an lucky enough to get preg am going to find it very hard to curb my temper with the 'oh it's because you want a girl' comments...ggrrrrrrrrr
Have no baby stuff as gave it all away or sold!

Hi Dizzidoll. When is your af due? Good luck. How old are your other dc?

Creamtea, good luck to you too, when is your af due? I'm sure if I get pregnant people will think its because we would like a boy as we have to DD's, almost 7 and 4. I'd be happy with either tbh. Glad there is at least two other mad people wanting a third Grin

And me! TTc #3 after years of jamming and aching about it. 2dcs 5 and 3. J creamtea I a, fully expecting the whole .. Oh you want a girl.. But actually would not give a tiny toss either way!

I had a mc at 11 weeks back in March. Am planning to test on the 30th.

Hello tedmundo. You sound like me, couldn't make my mind up for quite a while. I think with already having two, and it working well as it is, the thought of a third is a bit scary. I still want one though Grin sorry about your mc, I had one last November, good luck for this month Smile, I'm due around the 30th but going to try and hold out for a few days after that before I test, that's if af hasn't turned up before then which I think it will have.

I am ttc my third as well. We were planning on ttc in dec time but in April found out we were expecting and we so happy about, sadly 2 weeks later we lost the baby- have had my normal period the ovulation calender says this week is time,lol!
I have 2 DS one is 9 and the other is 16months, and both were awful pregnancies -ended up having a 28 and a 33 weeker and Iknow the next pregnancy will be equally as bad (I have an imcompetant cervix).

I am due to test on 4th July - 2 years to the day we found out we were expecting DS2

Sorry to hear about all the mc's Sad. Hopefully this time around all will go swimmingly!

I have a 4 yo dd and a 2 yo ds. I will get the 'but you have one of each, why do you want another' line :)

My af is not due until the beginning of july somewhere. I don't expect a bfp this time around though.

Glad to see there is a few of us! My af is due next week I think but it is first month off pill.
It's been 5 yrs since my last ds, what I have noticed is that there seems to be so many private companies now where you can scans and tests - and they are also lots cheaper! I remember paying £200 and driving 40 miles for a private 20 week scan, to find out the sex- they told me it was a girl - then at an nhs scan for low lying placenta at 30 weeks they told me no its a boy! And ds2 born 10 weeks later!
Should have asked for a refund! (for the scan not the baby:))

Hi,

We too are (sort of) trying for no. 3. My question is how soon in your cycle might you feel some sort of difference. I'm unbelievably tired but assume that's the 3 and 5 year old I already have? One of each also so most people thing I should be done. I'm also ....(whisper it...41). I generally get pregnant easily though have had a number of miscarriages later one so even on month 1 I don't rule it out. Would normally test on about July 1st - 3rd so wondering if its all in my head so far?

We are also just starting to try for number 3. We have a DS (5) and a DD (2). Again, as we have one of each, I think people will be surprised that we are trying for a third. I only stopped taking the Pill on Tuesday, so will be a while before I am in the realms of waiting to test.

Funnily enough I am most worried about the reaction from work. I had both previous mat leaves (12 months + holidays) with this employer, so am worried that they will start to think I am taking the mickey with a third leave. Not quite sure whether to prepare the ground by dropping subtle hints about a possible third child now?!

Hi furryfox and everyone, great to see similar ladies.

We are ttc#3 also. We have 2dc aged 7 and 4, one of each. Agonised for 2 yrs debating would we or not. Felt maybe we were being greedy when we had two already, financially could we cope?? But in the end we decided we'd love another. Came off the pill last August, got first af as normal in sep and then no af til jan!!! Af vanished again and was not feeling hopeful but felt very sick one day in march and low and behold got a bfp!! So quite a shock. But sadly had a mmc and erpc in April. Cheethaz I'm 40, so we are in the same boat. I had bleeding / spotting for six weeks after the erpc and still not fully gone. Don't think I have got my first af. So have no idea what's going on. My fear is am I going into menopause?? I will not go down the route of having tests. I guess we will ttc for a little while longer and just see what happens.

Hi cheethaz AF is the short name for aunt flow, your period. It's a whole new lingo on mumsnet.

Hi. TTC #3 too. Like you furry waited 4 years. Also 1st month of trying after coil removal.
Yes we are mad. But besty just had #4 and soo broody. Lol

I will be - going to try to hold off until thursday at least...better would be the weekend but not sure I'll be able to last.
