I had my 2nd MC on 11th May and thought that my normal Period would be due 4 weeks later on Friday 8th May (my cycle before was always 27-28days) it still hasnt arrived but a PT on Friday was negative... I dont really want to buy another test and maybe get my hopes up, does a cycle maybe take longer to start after MC as with my 1st MC it was totally diff i had D&C etc and bleed for 6 weeks, where this one i just bled for 5 days like a period???

Thanks xxxx

So sorry to hear about your mc. I bled for about 5 days after both if mine and it was 6 weeks until my next period started with both. I am currently on 3rd cycle since most recent and still not fully back to normal.

thank u chucklemonster and also sorry for ur loss, i thought it may take longer to start again, it was a midwife who told me 4 weeks because she scanned my ovaries and told me that my eggs were maturing again already, so thats what got me thinking, im probably best waiting a week or 2 before i test again... Änd crossing everythg and hoping next time will be 3rd time lucky xx

I had a mc @ 6wks in April and my AF returned 4.5 weeks later. When I went to the EPU I was told 4-6 weeks is the norm.

Hi, I had MC at 11 weeks back in March. Got AF exactly 28 days later as per my normal cycle.

I have since had 4 periods and the last one was the only one I would describe as normal for me. The first three were horrific and I am sure my body has only just got back to normal.

Go easy on yourself. It can take a while for it all to settle down! Good luck.

I'm also sorry to hear of your loss. I had a MC @ 14 weeks last year and it took 9 and a half long weeks for my cycle to come back. The staff at the hospital had said to me 6-10 weeks, but it felt like months at the time! I did settle down though, and am now 25+4 in a subsequent pregnancy. It's a hard time, take care of yourself x

I am very sorry you are going through this and for the second time. It really is heartbreaking! Like you I had my first mmc late last year and had an ERPC and the second in February and a natural mmc. My periods came back almost normal straight away after the ERPC but it took nearly 3 months for me to have a normal cycle as I would bleed really heavily for a few days then off for a few days. Eventually they gave me some progesterone to kick my cycle back into normal and that seemed to work.

It is soooo difficult as if you were like me then all I cold think about was when we could start trying again and it just seemed like one thing after another. I also had lots of friends that were all having their second child with many if them with similar due dates to what my first would have been. I found it helped to plan lots of nice things such as a short weekend away, even if just to visit relatives you enjoy spending time with or getting your nails done etc. it helped me to look forward to things rather than thinking about the next date we could start trying again.

It's funny that all you have hoped for the past few months is that you won't ge your period and now you are desperate for it!

Hi mylittlemonkey and thank you for your message, im the same one of my best friends had her little girl last week (we were originally due 2 weeks apart) but im so happy for her she has been trying for years for a baby and had failed IVF etc then fell pregnant naturally, we are trying to book a weekend away and get my nails done etc, but i thk nomatter what u do its always at the back of ur mind.

It is funny how things change that u dont want ur period to come, but now can wait for it so u can get back on track AGAIN!!!!!

I suppose good things come to those who wait :) xx
