Dpo8 .. I can't take much more of this 2ww.....

PuppyMummy · 25/06/2012 09:58

Hi everyone, can I join please. I have been on the June thread but there seems to be only me and sunshineoutdoors left!

I am also testing 30th June! but am not hopeful so think I will be here with you for a while. I am ttc #1 cycle 3. I am 31 and oh 31 (today)! not charting or temping but have all the days worked out in my diary. Think (hope!) I ov on day 9 or 10 - according to online calculators and what I presume to be ewcm - so we dtd every day 4-5 days over that time as well as before and after eod or so just to be sure!!

My friend who has recently had a baby took a year. aarrrrgggggghhhhh!

redstrawberry · 25/06/2012 09:59

I just call him Dawson's Creek guy :)

Hang in there ted you are not too far away from that BFP.
Its the exciting bit now... I hate this beginning of the cycle stage...just want to get on with jumping DH now.

herbal teas I'm afraid, anyone got biscuits?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 25/06/2012 10:12

I've got biscuits. Need them today. Pissed off as have not dtd yet bloody football. Is cd 13 today so I really need to get on with it. Ov could be anywhere from cd16 to cd22 cycle.

Don't think it is going to go well this month. Working in the evening a few nights this week and dd is teething.

puppy welcome to the July thread, have my fx for you.

Ted best of luck trying to stay sane.

SunshineOutdoors · 25/06/2012 10:16

Hi! Think it's a bit less echo-y in here!

ted I think I'm prob dpo9, but not sure... I've just based it on when I think I'm due on and counted back 14 days. I've not experienced this insanity of a 2ww before - but I know what you mean... it's driving me crackers!

I've had af type bloating and pain over a couple of days around dpo5/6, had a spot break out on my forehead which is unusual for me, and have creamy cm in my knickers when I check. So of course I'm obviously pregnant. Or these 'symptoms' could be all in my head or things that are there all the time and I never notice.

I never thought I'd be like this but I've bought 15 tests for under £3 off amazon here and as soon as they arrive I reckon I'll be testing every day until bfp or af. At least it gives me something to do everyday to make the time pass. Has anyone used these before?

kittykatsforever · 25/06/2012 10:46

Here you are red Biscuit
Well I've just googled and yes aparently sitting in a bath is a no go as it does kill sperm as can soap!! That's me having showers this month, on the website it's on it also recommends not too much dtd, and that after 24 hours of surge but before 48 is key, I know to take all advice with a pinch of salt but it did get me to thinking the times I've become pg both times we only dtd twice that month, last month lots, twice on ov day and nothing.... Not sure what to go for this month? Less is more?

SunshineOutdoors · 25/06/2012 11:00

Nooooo... if less is more can more be more too? I don't want the super shagging session to have reduced my chances.

kittykatsforever · 25/06/2012 11:14

Ofcourse it won't have sunshine (hugs) you get the bfp for pure supershagging, this is my didn't work last time try a different approach approach, I'm sure if you've has it everyday you've got as much chance as even though they are not as good swimmers they are there everyday to take over, like a relay team if you will Wink
(However) you read no further
if your shag quest didn't work we will know to keep our legs more closed next time as no one could have done more!

redstrawberry · 25/06/2012 11:15

the mind boggles - to dtd more or to dtd less - that is the question?
I am not sure I can make EOD, I have tried but DH works away or footie takes over, or we are too tired to do it EOD.

This cycle I am just going to do it as frequently as possible but not aim for an insane amount of sex.

hello puppy

sunshine your symptoms sound good, and yes do POAS every day till AF arrives to put yourself out of this misery. I am tempted to do the same this time during the 2ww. Its hard to be patient.

biscuits are good, need some sugar to keep me going.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 25/06/2012 11:56

I am going for the less is more approach but that is purely because that is the only option for us. With dh feeling the pressure of needing to perform, football and a teething dd I am hoping we can manage every three days.

If I could dtd eod I would. Don't worry sunshine all that sex was a good thing.

PuppyMummy · 25/06/2012 11:59

I don't think too much can be too much?! Surely the more sperm the better to guarantee they are there at the right time?!

I think i ov'ed this cycle on cd 10 so we dtd day 7, 8 10, 11,12, 15, 17 - we might do it tomorrow day 20 for leisure!!

Do you think we should do more before and less after?
I am not 100% sure when I ov as am going off online calculator based on 23/24 day cycle and ewcm. I like to keep going after in case Its later than day 10...

backwardpossom · 25/06/2012 12:11

How are you all doing ladies? I've had a mad weekend and haven't been able to keep up with you all!! FF has decided that I ov'd a few days ago and thinks I am now 3dpo. So maybe 5th July for testing now... fingers crossed!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 25/06/2012 12:22

puppy are you doing opks? I would have missed mine last month as it was weirdly late.

possom fx for you. Hope the 2ww goes quickly for you.

kittykatsforever · 25/06/2012 12:23

Hi puppy that sounds the approach I usually go for although perhaps not as much after, our pleasure one are usually before Grin
I'd invest in some opk tests if you don't know for defo when you ov as basing it on a usual cycle doesn't work for everyone, when I first tried I ended up using 2 packs as I was 8/9 days after when they said to start testing, it may surprise you and once you've done it once you will have a good idea even if you dont do it every month, apart from wtf cycle mine were always pos days 17-19, ofcourse this is probably unnecessary advice are you are due your bfp soon x

PuppyMummy · 25/06/2012 12:50

Hi Whenshe and Kitty, not using anything to predict just guessing based on ewcm and online calculator prediction so I know it might be out, thats why were trying to cover the whole cycle just in case. AF due 29th/30th so fx we have done enough this month, however if it hasn't worked I might do some reading up on ov predictors. Clear Blue do one, does anyone rate them?

This month I also banned saliva entirely from the proceedings and use pre-seed instead!

resipsa · 25/06/2012 13:17

Hey sunshine, fx for you. In my last pregnancy (Jan 12), the early giveaway was a massive spot on my forehead so the unusual breakout bodes well!

redstrawberry · 25/06/2012 13:24

I was really looking fwd to getting OV sticks this month. They are sat in my checkout basket in Amazon. Now I'm having second thoughts.

I think I will wait another failed cycle before I get the sticks.
I want to rely on CM this month and just shag without sticks.

Hoping I don't have to get the sticks next month

kittykatsforever · 25/06/2012 13:29

What puts you off red?

resipsa · 25/06/2012 13:33

Have to say I like the "certainty" of the sticks, esp the CB digital ones which smile at you when it's time to get busy. In fact, the smiley face worked first time for me (not a sticky one, sadly) so have fond memories.

kittykatsforever · 25/06/2012 13:40

Me to resipia, and the smile always cheers me up, I'm like yeay let's get jiggly! Was interesting in my wtf cycle too to see how it was effected, I'd have never carried on til cd23 without knowing I'd ovd then!
Imhoping I go back to normal this month but not really sure what to expect
FYI my phone just changed normal to oral, how's that for a fraudian slip ( and yes I'd have liked that too lol Wink)

RIBS · 25/06/2012 13:41

Afternoon all. I see every1 else was sat watching the bloody football. Same old crap every 4 years!
I would go 4 the sticks @red. I never used 2 know my cycle, it ranged from 5 wks 2 over 3m. 1st time I used them I got bfp. I haven't needed them since due 2 clomid regulating my cycles.

I started with the ePo on Fri. Ewcm started yest! On cd8. That's proper early 4 me. Last month I had it 4 a wk, so hoping I ov sometime this wk. Had a quick shag over the bath last nite. It worked 4 some1 on 1 of the previous threads. Was it morecoffee or pinkie?

So its winkle time!

kittykatsforever · 25/06/2012 13:50

Lol at ribs, keep them legs up!!
Where does everyone get there epo from as I ov late I'm wondering if I should give it a go, is it too late on cd5?
Do people take tablets or is it like cod liver oil in a capsule?

redstrawberry · 25/06/2012 14:22

Not sure, I just wanted to get pregnant without OV sticks. OV sticks are like my fall back option if EPO doesn't work. I guess I am thinking if EPO, shagathon, CM spotting don't work, at least I can try something new next month.

Whereas if I try OV sticks this month and if it still doesn't work, I will be onto the fertility monitor next. Its like a new fertility aid every month to see which one eventually works.

And because I am only on cycle 3 of ttc yet I wanted to give the 'au naturale' method a chance before I begin peeing on OV sticks.

Although after that kind of persuasion from RIBS and kitty you might just make me buy them :)

redstrawberry · 25/06/2012 16:34

Have I killed the thread Hmm?

PuppyMummy · 25/06/2012 17:35

I agree with what u have said. I'm also on cycle 3 - soon to be 4 probably! and have tried to do things natural, although we have used pre-seed this month. but I'm already getting fed up of the waiting and not knowing so I am definitely going to consider opks as I'm starting to feel like I could be wasting time if were not covering the right time.
