winkle .. Not the shower .. It might wash away his spermies!

Can't think of any other options not already mentioned. This is where Mores's "position of the fortnight" would come in handy!!

kittykatsforever · 22/06/2012 13:57

Hi ted, no no epo just that I usually get a slightly pale brown discharge sorry tmi a day before af but nothing totally clear one minute then bam!! I did feel optimistic too as for the "apparent" increased fertility but not for me!!
Glad you had a lovely meal out. I'm counting on you lot to start the July thread going with a lucky blaze of glory!
Loving the poncing on dh, saw in another thread that apparently you have an 80% chance of conception before ov and only 5% on day and after!! Anyone else heard this? If so may have to "pounce" on dh a few days earlier this month too

kittykatsforever · 22/06/2012 14:03

Oh but was only 10dpo?!?

winkle2 · 22/06/2012 14:15

Nooooooo kitty don't tell me that cause I'm in the 5% this month then!

tedmundo · 22/06/2012 14:28

Kittykat .. Yes I have read about that and I took it with a pinch of salt. Only because it is clearly a product in direct competition with Lh surge test kits. But, that said, I am sure the more sperm you can have waiting for the egg the better!

Here

tedmundo · 22/06/2012 14:36

Actually I read a good paper on this last month after the shagging got me down.

here

Winkle .. This quote may reassure you..

There was no evident relation between the age of sperm and the viability of the conceptus, although only 6 percent of the pregnancies could be firmly attributed to sperm that were three or more days old.

And this one too..

The probability of conception ranged from 0.10 when intercourse occurred five days before ovulation to 0.33 when it occurred on the day of ovulation itself.

kittykatsforever · 22/06/2012 14:56

I think I was just thinking the day or 2 before but it's definatly worth a shot if you know aprox when you ov

RIBS · 22/06/2012 15:02

Hello everyone.

Ive not died, iv got very shitty phone, its been back with vodafone more than ive had it, so just getting a sneaky chance to post at work.

So, Im just seeing the back of the dreaded AF. And am feeling good about this months pending deed doing. Got my horn last night and I think its ready to stay for another 3 weeks so poor old DP will be happily exhausted. Particularly as he's had a few 6am -10pm work days. I just give him some food, let him have a shower then get him!!Grin

Im off out in a min for some EPO. Just checked that its ok to take with the clomid and it is. The clomid's defo dried up my juices, so this looks like it may be the answer.

Im also booked in for a bout of acupuncture in a couple of wks around ov. Anyone had a go with the needles, im used to getting a bit of a prick with all this TTC but not that many!!! Grin

This month I will be mostly ..... having all the nookie EOD but then when ewcm arrives 2 days then a rest then 2 days and so on, until one of us collapses.

Hows everyone doing? I see your enjoying playing with the fertility monitor *winkle

I remember kick saying that the ov sticks will pick up the surge but not when the eggs actually released, that could be a week later. With taking the clomid, I have shocking ov pains, and get a + ov test a couple of days before the pain goes, which is when I reckon my egg pops!

-- sorry for the long post.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 22/06/2012 16:29

Got my horn last night Grin good to see your back RIBS you seem a lot more cheerful.

Have a good weekend.

tedmundo · 22/06/2012 16:55

kittykat yes I agree. Our problem was that I am quite regular and know roughly when I should OV, so felt the pressure to DTD those 5 days in the run up to OV. We were KNACKERED!

Hence the frantic search for research papers about the statistics of conception. Just to make myself feel better ha!

hi RIBS the EPO is def worth a try for the CM. Hope it works for you.

lollypopsicle · 22/06/2012 18:12

Ted DP cowering under the duvet about sums up my sex life at the moment. I'm a woman on a mission. I don't think he minds, really Hmm note to self: be a bit more romantic tonight.

RIBS, I've been thinking about acupuncture. [grins] pricks It's the thought of all those little pricks not being so little that puts me off! Do report back.

babyjames · 22/06/2012 18:54

evening all. Can't remember if I've posted on here or not! I had acupuncture 3 times then got pregnant with DS. We had been trying for well over a year and I believe it helped. I may look into it again in a few cycles if no luck.

Have a good evening everyone

pipsicles · 22/06/2012 19:00

Thanks for the welcome, ladies!

Some interesting reading ted, although I'm not sure it's made me feel much better - only 33% chance of success even when dtd on ov day?! Here's hoping my frequent urination, fatigue, tender nipples and general 'feeling' are not just in my head!

Hope you all have a lovely Friday evening - I've just found out that DH may have broken his wrist at football tonight... at least I won't have to spend hours there on a Friday night - DS is in bed so friends have kindly volunteered to take him to a&e!

FloweryBoots · 22/06/2012 21:05

pricks Grin nearly spat my drink out laughing at that and DH couldn't understand my hysterics (I wasn't telling him what I'd read)!!

pips, sorry about your DH, and welcome to the July thread.

Re EPO, I've nto taken it in years but it made a massive difference to my totally unpredictable cycles about, ooo, longer ago than I care to remember actually. Got me from anything from 3 weeks to 3 months to a reasonably regularish 5 weeks ish.

RIBS · 22/06/2012 21:25

Thanks @ whenshewas. I was a bit upset 4 a couple of days then I'd had enough of it. I can't stay down or mad, I'm 2 perky, despite everything that could go wrong does go wrong 4 me. But uv gotta laugh.

Iv got the epo ready 2 knock it back with a cheeky pinot. Wish I'd known about this earlier!

Good luck with the patient @pip!

Will keep every1 posted on the prick situation. I can't wait, ill shit myself when 1st needle goes in.

winkle2 · 22/06/2012 21:55

Well girls I managed to get to hubby and dtd! Had a quickie whilst mil went to visit SIL round the corner! Haha! Obvs haven't been able to do the full on winkle so quickly got dressed and am currently lying on sofa will cushion under my bum and legs up on back of sofa!! So it looks like relaxing rather than trying to keep spermies up me! MIL has no clue!!

YikesHereWeGo · 22/06/2012 22:40

Hello hello everyone.
Weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
pipsicles (good name) - I'm in a similar position to you, mc @ 10wks in May, now ttc on CD14 and charting like a good'un. I'm learning lots of new technical terms like 'luteal phase' etc. that I had no idea about when me and DH started ttc last time round. I'm quite enjoying the charting - I take my temp every morning at 6am and am, err, noticing all sorts of cm that I've never noticed before (despite being 37!) as I suppose I've never paid it that much attention before.
kittykats - bummer for this month. grrr. fx for next month!!!!
tedmundo - lucky you living in Brizzle. fab place. I went to uni there and have v fond & drunken memories Grin
RIBS - totally understand about having the horn. Grin I tend to ov quite late in my cycle, but have started to 'pester' DH over the last day or so and I'm quite enjoying it all rather than it being a chore. Not sure how long I'll want to keep it going for. We'll see....
Liking the sound of this epo business. Might have to look into that Confused

winkle2 · 22/06/2012 23:16

Hope your hubby's ok pipsicle

pipsicles · 23/06/2012 08:45

So DH has broken his wrist :( - now I have two boys to dress and feed! I felt bad because I wasn't really paying attention when he was telling me about it because he's always coming back from football with this or that terrible injury, but should have known when he's being modest that it is actually serious!

Yikes - Sorry to hear about your mc, but it's good to be able to talk to people in the same boat. I've really enjoyed learning how to chart too - I kind of wish I'd known more about it all when I was younger. I never knew when my period was due and I actually thought there was something wrong with me because I had lots of cm! Blush I remember being too scared to go to the drs and then it would clear up, so I'd think I was 'better' and then it would happen all over again. What brilliant sex ed I had!

Winkle - I love your covert dtd cover-up! Brilliant!

RIBS - I had reflexology to induce my mc and it worked amazingly well (iykwim?) and he was telling me that it can be effective for TTC too...? I think I may book in an appt with him if we're unsuccessful this month. My advice would be that they have to be REALLY good at their job though. I just thought it might be a little less painful and definitely less prickish!

Right. Off to the shower - we'll see what kind of war zone DH and DS manage to create in 10 minutes!

pipsicles · 23/06/2012 08:46

Oooh Yikes I meant to ask if you're using fertility friend to chart?

kittykatsforever · 23/06/2012 08:54

Lol at winkle with the cushion under her bum, well planed Wink
Pips my hubbie broke his arm 3 months back, I could have killed him, still funnily enough it was while he was in plaster when I managed to get pg last so it didn't hinder his swimmers, you tell him no excuses lol
Yikes I'm the same mc in may and although I havnt struck gold in June we were told it was better to wait for an af first then try again so in effect that's what I've done Hmm well I know I'd have been thinking what if if we hadn't given it a shot, this way I've just followed advice Grin
Also had a smear letter that I've not been able to action for a year as this is first af and need to do it mid cycle and ofcourse I've been keen to get that done Hmm

kittykatsforever · 23/06/2012 08:56

Oh and pips dh was football aswell but get ready for hard work, no driving no picking up dc no nappies, no help at all!!!!
