Due to the luck thread starters have, I thought I'd mark a place for the second thread as we are so chatty!

Here's to BFPs for us all :-)

So, i'm at work meaning I am obviously thinking of other things totally non-work based.

Do you think you can ever 'feel' pregnant? I guess it's a bit of a question for those that have their BFPs, if they are still around. At the early stages, before you have symptoms, do you feel pregnant? While we are TTC we are probably prone to thinking any little change or something unusual is pregnancy but I wonder whether, when it happens, we will be able to feel different before the tests are in...?

Anyway, thats my current train of thought...

Pinkie29 · 12/06/2012 14:38

Dulcet apparently there are no symptoms, I got my bfp last week at 12dpo and thinking back the only difference I'd noticed was being exceptionally tired which is unusual for me and I had a huge appetite, also normally my boobs are tender right after ov, this month I didn't get any tenderness until around 7dpo

Popinda · 12/06/2012 15:38

Ladies what are your view on: does saliva harm or kill sperm?

Popinda · 12/06/2012 15:42

newbie I started using ov sticks on my cd6 so I would be surprise if I missed it! I decided to blame my cheep sticks from Internet. :-)

Newbie2 · 12/06/2012 16:43

Dulcet I think the symptoms must feel stronger to those who're not thinking about pregnancy. When I speak to friends who have had happy accidents they've said they 'just knew' without even having to take a test. One of my friends never even took a test and just went straight to her GP (I find that odd as I've been waiting years to see that BFP line). I feel because I'm thinking 24hrs about this now that every twinge becomes analysed to whether it's a sign of a BFP!

Newbie2 · 12/06/2012 16:47

Pinkie am I right in thinking that you OV late?

Pop oh then I guess you probably would have caught it! I'm so addicted to these damn sticks! I have to stop and save some for when I might need them!

Pinkie29 · 12/06/2012 17:24

On my April cycle I didn't ov until cd28 but may cycle was cd16/17 I'm putting it down to Vitex Smile

EchoDragon · 12/06/2012 18:08

pop have taken two in the last two weeks. Also am sure I read on MN that water and saliva aren't good for the little swimmers.

Might take another test this week. Otherwise I'm heading to the doctors next week if AF is a now show.

Maclairey · 12/06/2012 18:15

Hey Echo, I too am contemplating to docs soon if this carries on. I am a little bit reticent though in case they tell me to go away because it's perfectly normal.

It's so frustrating though. I have bought some vitex as well as EPO so hopefully when/if AF ever arrives I can try and prevent this happening again. I honestly never thought it would take this long for my first period after pill. :(

LisaC2611 · 12/06/2012 18:21

Another question for you - I've read on here that you should stop epo when you ov - can someone tell me why? I use it for 2 reasons, one because it helps my skin and 2 because it helps my period pains. Do I need to stop using it mid-cycle?

Popinda · 12/06/2012 18:22

Dragon - I just read that on Internet! Now I know where the problem is! Grin does saliva kills the sperm or just make them very slow? does anyone know why?

Popinda · 12/06/2012 18:25

Lisa - yes you do need to stop taking epo after ov as it apparently can cause a contractions to uterus, which is not what you really want when ttc.
I didn't know epo helps with the skin problems! That's great news! Thanks! Smile

LisaC2611 · 12/06/2012 18:30

Thanks pop. That'll rule me out for this month. Been taking them everyday religiously to clear my skin up forth is weekend. Done a fine job of clearing it but will remember not to take next month if Af arrives next week Sad

EchoDragon · 12/06/2012 18:58

Hmm wouldn't think it would kill them, perhaps hinder them. Not sure you'd want to do anything that would hinder them tho.

maclairey know what you mean but I think we have both been patient enough really. At 54 and 51 days cycles are getting slightly ridiculous!

DulcetMoans · 12/06/2012 19:16

pinkie - I find that really interesting. Obviously we are told there are no symptoms which I am sure is true but I just think, with such a big thing happening in your body at that time you might just be 'aware' something has changed. Makes sense to be tired since your body is making a baby!

newbie - That makese sense to me as well. People actively trying and waiting each month to see if AF turns up or not will be looking at every twinge hoping that's it. We might miss any feeling of actual change.

Saliva and sperm?? That's not going to work for baby making! :o

Pinkie29 · 12/06/2012 19:39

Dulcet oddly this is the first month I haven't sat and analysed every twinge/ache and turns out I was pg! I guess it varies from person to person but generally my reasoning for believing in no symptoms is to save my sanity Smile

DulcetMoans · 12/06/2012 20:01

Yeah, I agree. Everyone will experience it differently. I just saw another thread actually in the 'conception' section where someone had asked how quickly they knew, some of them said after like 36hrs!

Pinkie29 · 12/06/2012 20:21

That's crazy!! I remember tho about 2 days after we would have conceived I was feeling very queasy, I assumed it was my cooking from the night before! Who knows hmm!

alwayshopeful13 · 12/06/2012 22:59

Hello all, bit of an update from hopeful land:

Having concluded that my cycle is now 31 days on average (btw 30 and 32 since the mc in December), so expecting AF Friday 15th, today had some poss AF "signs" (sorry don't know what the abbreviation is) i.e. on day 28 which is how long my cycle used to be pre mc.

Nothing further since lunchtime today and I got a BFN when I tested after work this evening. So now torturing myself between most likely option (a) it is AF earlier than expected so back to square 1 again or option (b) the possibility of implantation bleeding if cycle is still 31 days and ov was (as I suspected without ov tests) on CD 19 ish.

I started taking EPO at the start of this cycle so who knows what effect that will have had. But basically totally clueless as to what's going on, and as usual completely not dealing with the fact that i can't just figure out what my body is doing. Why isn't there a clever computer that tells us?! (Because that's not how nature works, I know). Frustration reigns.

Here's hoping AF just comes proper tomorrow so I know where I am (and can open the wine!).

Nice to know we're all on this joyous journey together :-) x

DulcetMoans · 13/06/2012 11:57

Hi hopeful! I hope you get AF tomorrow too, just to put an end to the wondering and allowing you to start again!

In other news, I am a PIAC convert. That was so much easier tha POAS this morning. Still BFN but at least I did it right. No idea what I did yesterday morning to have it not work at all!

BB01 · 13/06/2012 12:20

Just wanted to say hello and share my story - which is v short you may be pleased to know!! DH and I decided last week to start trying...I am already consumed with thoughts of it 24/7 and can't sleep!! Although we have said to start with we won't go mad tracking ovulation etc it's so hard not to, esp as I think I know pretty much when this is every month. I'm also already worrying about how long it may take ttc - I have to say although I know quite a bit about babies and kids I am only just learning how low the odds are of actually conceiving!! Possibly didn't pay enough attention in biology. Anyway, so far we haven't told anybody about ttc. If the siblings-in-law ask again when we're having kids (which they do frequently) I will find it v hard to not tell them as they all have kids themselves. However I really would like to surprise them when and if we finally succeed. Feel better already now I have finally shared this with somebody other than DH! Eek story ended up longer than I expected :)

Newbie2 · 13/06/2012 12:43

Welcome BB :) we are all v addicted to this thread so be warned!

Update from me is I can't seem to shake this food poisoning off. Still feeling terrible but back at work today. Today is CD 31 :( come on AF where are you!!!!

DulcetMoans · 13/06/2012 15:04

Hi BB! I am sure most of us feel the same way as you! I am always asked when we are having kids and have to skirt around it now. Having to keep up my anti-kid pretence in some areas to as I am a recent convert to becoming a Mum!

Popinda · 13/06/2012 15:41

Welcome BB we are all in the same boat, so to speak. Smile I know how you feel as I'm exactly the same! Good luck with ttc and hopefully you will get your bfp in your first month! Smile what contraception did you use before?

Popinda · 13/06/2012 15:46

Ladies, do you think having no symptoms can be symptom of being pg? If you know what I mean?! I think I'm well and truly after my ov this month, but usually I have after ov, religiously every months since stopping the pill, sore boobs...etc, but not this month! Could that be a symptom or is it just a hopeful thinking? Smile
