So I have pcos, tried clomid last month after bringing on period as am so irregular. Was using the cbfm and was delighted to get my peak for the first time ever on cd 16. So from that I had a lot of hope that I ovd. However am now cd38 and am testing bfn yet no period which I was expecting if ovd. Anyone else been through this?

It is possible that you had a surge of hormones to build up to ovulation, but that it wasn't enough to trigger it. Do you chart your temperatures? Temping is the only way (apart from blood tests) to confirm that ov has happened.

I also have PCOS and am on Clomid. I've been told not to rely heavily on OPKs and CBFM as you can get false readings due to yo-yoing hormones.

Maghribia,

What dosage are you on?.

Clomid's main job is to make the ovaries work harder. It encourages more LH to be produced and it is likely the CBFM is picking up that increased reading. It therefore gives you a false positive result which is probably what happened on day 16.

Also you should be monitored with both blood tests and ultrasounds on clomid as no monitoring at all is completely unacceptable. Also clomid should be used with a degree of caution in PCOS patients as it can affect hormone levels markedly and thus impede ovulation.
