Hi i currently have a 17 month old LO who is still being BF and my partner and I have decided to try for baby no2! Will the fact that im still breastfeeding affect me getting pregnant? And will pregnancy help wean my Lo? Im not in a rush to wean her but dont fancy tandam feeding and would like her weaned before baby no2 arrives, still need to get pregnant first though haha!! Any advice would be great thanks :D

Yup. We got pregnant whilst still feeding dc1. He was already 23 months. And it suddenly started to hurt. Which was why I tested and realized I was pregnant with dc2. And we got him off quickly coz it was really hurting!!!

Ive heard it can be painful, how did you manage to get him off? Ive been trying for months to reduce my LOs feeds with no success but shes been having a major time with teething the past few months which always results in a cold which in turn has her feeding more frequently, ive tried different methods by she ends up hysterical which I cant bear :(

By that age you can reason I think. That's my hope anyway because dc2 is now 20 months and I hope to get her off by her second birthday!!!

I was hoping she would loose interest herself but its not looking that way, distraction only works for so long! Ive heard that your supply can dry up / taste different when pregnant which can help get them off so hopefully that will help once im pregnant again if shes still on
