thoughts on TRYING to get pregnant vs NOT PREVENTING pregnancy????

With my DS we started having unprotected sex (thinking it would take a year) and i fell straight away and 9 months later produced a bouncing little boy (very lucky i know). At the time we were both 20 something party animals and drank and smoked a fair bit.

We have now been TRYING (charting/CBFM/pregnacare/magnesium for him and a whole host of other things including no fags and booze) for over a year and i am not pregnant.

Following a recent ectopic we are starting to TTC again and I'm wondering whether to bother even trying or just not prevent?? We are both in our early 30s and healthy and i have a regular cycle.

I think after all i hear and read that whether you get pregnant, and go on to have a baby is just luck really...

Any thoughts??

Hi berries I think it's down to what suits you. Young and healthy and conceived before, there is every chance that not TRYING would still bring you a second. The thing is though, now you have done all this charting etc, could you go back? I do the charting etc because I never got pg by leaving it to luck that the sperm met the egg and did the right thing and I'm much older, so I figured I should do all I could. I feel like I might not be able to continue with it due to too much batshit crazy. I can't really see how to stop though, somehow I would always be counting cycle days in my head.

Yes, I met you on the Switzerland thread a while back, I still read your posts from time to time. I never quite found a 'thread home' somehow. I am still trying but it makes me mental. I wish you the very best on a non-mental approach. X
