waiting list for ivf

After years of trying we are now getting the ball rolling for ivf...we are lucky to be getting this on nhs but just wondered if anyone else had ivf and how long did u wait??? I know its different for each area but i'm just curious.

No waiting list at all at my clinic (King's) but that is pretty unusual from what I have read on here. It really does depend on the clinic. Friends just a few miles up the road have had substantial waits.

Waiting list in my area is 1 year however, I got a round a couple of months before the one year mark in order to meet the criteria of being under 40. I now believe that had I asked to be transferred to a regional centre (where the transfer took place anyway), there would have been no waiting list for the IVF although there would have been a wait for the consultant appointment.

To use a media cliche, it's a lottery. Hugely stressful.
