So I'm currently on cd18. I normally ov on cd16 but I think I might be oving today.

Didn't swi last night but did the previous 6 nights in a row. This morning I had a dip on my temps and this morning have the tell-tale cramping...

Even though I'm great at giving advice, I don't often heed it myself. So I know that sperm can live longer than than 24 hours, but can you reassure me?

Thank you.

Do it today if you can and you should catch the egg! Also apparently it can live for a couple of days in you. Good luck!

the minimum i've read that sperm can live for is 2 days, they can live far longer. As squirrel says DTD today but sperm do take a while to get there and takes time for them to undergo capacitation (necessary in order to be able to fertilise the egg) so it may be too late but still worth trying as you cannot be certain that you've ovulated this morning. Perfect timing is usually having sex the day before ov but 2 days before gives you a good chance still.

Won't be able to dtd until tonight as DD has recently dropped her daytime nap...Sad

Send dad off to the bathroom with a small container at once!

blackcatsdancing · 03/06/2012 10:55

ooh good thinking leftwing but imagine telling DC how they were conceived!

blackcatsdancing · 03/06/2012 11:02

can you stick her favourite DVD on and run off to have a quickie??

Leftwingharpie · 03/06/2012 11:40

Um not sure I would be telling DC how they were conceived! Grin

IAmBooybilee · 03/06/2012 11:43

we have to tell our dcs how they were conceived?? Shock Grin

There's always the trusty (but decidedly unromantic) "give us a shout when you get to the - ahem - money shot, OH" approach!

Leftwingharpie · 03/06/2012 11:51

Obv with small container as back up just in case DD picks that moment to swallow a toy car or something! Grin

If you don't manage today don't worry too much, my doc insists that little swimmers can survive for up to a week, that seems optimistic but I think 3-4 days is normal.
