False positive on Boots Hpt with the cross?

I'm NC since I'm fairly well known on MN and I'm a bit perplexed by this. Been ttc for a long time couple of years AF arrived a couple of days earlier than expected. Definitely tmi? red blood and quite flirty but relatively short. I was feeling a bit mad so I POAS this morning - couple of days after AF- on one of those boots tests with a cross with FMU. There's a faint line vertically that came up almost immediately. I was a bit . I bought another test later but it was BFN. Are these tests notorious for giving false negatives? Any experiences?
Obviously I'll get another test for FMU tomorrow but will calm myself down if someone tells me they've got a false positive with this type too.

ive learnt not to trust blue dye tests always gofor a pink one blue dyes are very bad for false positives

I got some First Response so they're pink dye. I will resist temptation til the morning to test with FMU.

I fully expect to get a BFN but hold out a bit of hope! I pulled the test apart as you do and the line was clearer inside. If it is a false positive I won't be using this brand again! Thanks for the crossed fingers :)

BFN. Thought it would be. Dreamt about BFPs all night though! Well I'll be avoiding these tests like the plague. I got a faint positive on one two cycles ago then got AF, wondered if it was a chemical pregnancy - now I think the tests are dodgy! Ah well, bring on the cycle!

Oh and I've ordered internet cheapies which I will use instead!

What a shame, I will make sure I avoid them
