So step aboard ladies and join me for a hunt for the golden egg.

You have 5 days but you'll need a spare test stick to reset it. Ask the seller if she can send one. If not, I have some Persona sticks left that should work just to reset it. They are the same size and you don't actually do a test with it.

Pipbin · 01/07/2012 22:51

thanks guys. I've downloaded and read the instruction leaflet. The sale includes 4 sticks and the instructions say that I'll have to day 5 to set it. The seller says that she is putting ti in the post in the morning so hopefully I'll have it in time.

That's good news! Hope it helps.

Rachstrawberry · 02/07/2012 11:46

So are they more effective than OPKs then?

SilentMammoth · 02/07/2012 16:24

Probably depends on how effective you think opk s are. Opk don't show ovulation, I don't know if these do?

Wiggy29 · 02/07/2012 19:43

Yes, it does, the first peak day is the day before you ov so second peak day is the day you ov. It measures two hormones so more accurate and I found it easier as uses first wee, you only have to test once per day and, for me, I didn't get positive with opk.

Pipbin · 02/07/2012 20:05

My positives with opks are a but touchy. Also, it's a gadget and as such will make DH feel a bit more involved.

OP posts:
SilentMammoth · 02/07/2012 20:34

Wish of could"like" that last post pip!

Squirrel77 · 02/07/2012 22:42

Gadgets are great! Hope it works for you Pip. I toyed with the idea of getting a CBFM but I'm pretty happy now with OPKs and mucus hunting. Having said that, you guys know my propensity for taking every last vitamin and supplement under the sun and forcing Mr S to drink pomegranate juice and investing in a new toy to try out my cervix dipping theory

We'll its 5 DPO over here and I was very tired today, hmmm. Actually feeling really anxious about getting pregnant - definitely not an ideal time in our lives but I am about to turn 35 so feel like it's now or never, eeek...

Hope everyone's keeping well out there

Crazytictac · 03/07/2012 08:16

I don't think there is ever an ideal time for many people squirrel, it's quite scary to plan! Is your b'day soon? being nosey and seeing if we might share the same date Wink

Well day 40 now and no period. Fertility monitor gave me a peak 3 weeks ago today! I think though from what I've read my body must have geared up for ovulation but for some reason didn't release an egg at that time after all. I have nearly bankrupted myself with pg tests so confident I'm not pregnant and I have had a few tell tale spots crop up so that's usually a sign she's on her way. COME ON! Rant over :)

lastboxoftampons · 03/07/2012 08:53

Grrr...just wrote a big long message, Checked something in another tab and when came back to MN it refreshed and I lost everything. Angry

Anyway, wanted to say that I really like my cbfm too. I like that it uses fmu as I always had a hard time trying to poas in bathrooms at work at 3pm, etc. but, like opks it won't tell you that you've actually ov'd, just that your body geared up to do it. It measures your surge, but doesn't confirm ov.

Wiggy - your poor DS :( mine just got over it, but I think we had it a bit a easy, he didn't seem too itchy. The spots take ages to go too, even after they dry up and scab over. You'll be missing your sweet little boy's face by the end of it, but I guess it's worth getting it over with. I hope he feels better soon xx

Squirrel - I agree that you're going away is the perfect way to tempt fate! Btw, the website is www.drmalpani.com. There's even a fun quiz to do - who doesn't love a fertility quiz!?! Grin

Flying - :( poor you! I hope you're feeling a bit better now. And well done for managing a pint with your dad while feeling so rough Wink

Pip - so sorry AF got you. It sucks, I know.

Crazy - did you have any Ewcm in the past three weeks? Sounds like you surged but didn't ov.

Well, have been to see the GP - all blood tests came back normal and in short she doesn't really believe that there's anything wrong. She says my 10 day LP with spotting from 8dpo is perfectly normal as it's part of a regular 26 day cycle Hmm. She thinks this month might've just been a "hormonal blip" as I spotted from 2dpo through to AF. But she did do a smear and swabs fr infection. But then she had a feel and said that my uterus feels "bulkier" than she would expect to feel so she referred me for a scan. Appointment should come through within two weeks but if takes ages, DH and I agreed to go for a private consult. Of course I googled bulky uterus and came back with fibroids, endometriosis or adenomyosis. GP says fibroids wouldn't cause spotting. Needless to say, very Confused but will hopefully get some answers soon.

Crazytictac · 03/07/2012 15:33

Reassuring that blood tests are all fine lbot and great that you're being given a thorough check. If it helps, I had a pelvic scan in Jan on the NHS and didn't have to wait long at all. Hope your appointment comes through quickly but good that you have the private option if it doesn't. Are you feeling ok about it?

I really haven't had much EWCM at all lately. I did however notice (because it was unusual) that I had literally one lot when I went to the loo a few days after my peak reading which I thought was odd. I think I'd have got a positive test by now though even if I did ovulate at that time. Ah well.

flying how are you feeling now?

pip has your gadget arrived?

Pipbin · 03/07/2012 18:08

No Crazy it hasn't. The lady I bought it from said she would put it in the post on Monday but I've heard nothing since.
If it arrives tomorrow then that's CD 4 and I can set it on the morning of CD5 so that'll be ok. Any later than that and I don't know what I'll do.
Grrrr.

OP posts:
Leftwingharpie · 04/07/2012 07:17

You could just set it as CD5 anyway, it's only one day out and sometimes it's a bit of a judgement call as to when CD1 is anyway. It will still identify your peak days - and I was never that convinced that mine was doing much in the way of data analysis.

Squirrel77 · 04/07/2012 07:58

Howdy all,

lbot thanks for the info. I consulted the mysterious online doctor (couldn't help myself!) and she was concerned about my LH/FSH levels! Weird as my consultant here isn't? Also as you might know I have endo and (possibly, they say) adenomyosis - the good news (if I can put it that way) is that you do have it and they remove it, your fertility is heightened for six months after surgery. But hopefully it's nothing serious!

Crazy that gob of EWCM sounds promising. I am not sure what is happening - are you getting peak CBFM but no +OPK? Since I have been taking EPO 1500mg daily my EWCM has improved a lot...

Pip I hope your gadget arrives today but its good to know that you can start to use it anyway to identify peak days.

Speaking of online Doctors, I am a bit obsessed with the Virtual Doctor - www.freemd.com. It's a video of a (not unattractive) man in a white coat that actually asks you questions and speaks to you! But be sure to turn the sound off if you are using it at work?I was at the library and asked it/him about thrush symptoms. Suddenly, a loud booming American voice came out of the computer "YOU TOLD ME YOU HAVE VAGINAL ITCHING?" Oh.My.God how embarrassing. I could only pretend that I'd clicked on the site by mistake Blush

Well I went to the GP yesterday to follow up on why the consultant wants me to wait another 3 months before being prescribed estrogen. I proudly showed her my FF charts and said it's not like we've been messing around, we have been tracking fertility the whole time we have been TTC! She agreed with me, if there's an identified problem they should just treat it! She said she would ring the hospital to follow up and maybe write a prescription, and also re-refer me back to the consultant. Anyway, she was sooo nice and I feel a lot better.

It was funny though, she had a medical student with her, a shy young man who looked like a virgin, what an education he had as I made sure to refer to "SEX" and "EWCM" several times throughout the consultation - baptism by fire! Grin

SilentMammoth · 04/07/2012 12:33

Oh squirrel what a funny post! You've made me laugh for the first time days, thank you!

Squirrel77 · 04/07/2012 13:43
Smile
Crazytictac · 04/07/2012 14:12

me too, that was hilarious squirrel about your computer shouting out about your fanjo. I can just picture it Grin. I've started sniggering again, oh no.

Glad your appointment was more productive than last time! Sounds as if things are now getting off the ground.

Yeah getting peak readings but not using opks. Might start temping now though to try and identify what is happening. ooh, thanks for tip on EPO. Need all the help I can get!

Dillydollydaydream · 04/07/2012 14:16

Squirrel that made me giggle :)

Pipbin · 04/07/2012 15:34

CBFM not here today. Hopefully it'll turn up tomorrow as its only a day out and I ov late anyway.

OP posts:
Flyingwithoutwings · 04/07/2012 20:56

Tictac feeling a little better, thank you Smile I saw GP on Monday and have a chest infection so on abs, if they don't work I'll have steroids next week. I had pneumonia in Oct / Nov which caused the return of my childhood asthma (had for 17 years, been clear of for 22) Sad so I'm on pneumonia treatment that I had in Oct (but I was dreadfully ill then, 8 weeks of being ill with 4 weeks off work Sad)

The pint helped, I'm certain of that Wink

Squirrel, I nearly had an asthma attack with laughter at that, I'd have pissed myself if I'd been in there when you did that... In fact.... Blush

Crazytictac · 05/07/2012 13:42

Day 42 and AF finally shows up. Thank God for that.

flying you've been through the mill a bit. Glad you're feeling a bit better.

Squirrel77 · 05/07/2012 16:24

Crazy glad the evil AF has shown up and you can crack on to the next cycle! Hope everyone else is doing ok.

I am going completely mental with symptom spotting, 8 DPO. Current symptoms are: strong AF-style cramps, retched when tried to eat a sandwich (from the fridge at work, tasted off but expiry date was today), weird bubbling sensation in stomach, and cloudy urine Grin.

Someone please slap me over the head with a cold haddock! (or indulge me a little - do ya think I'm preggo??) Confused

SilentMammoth · 05/07/2012 19:49

Reckon you're preggers Squirrel Smile
Pip any sign of the CBFM?
Crazy, onwards and upwards old bean!

CD11 here and getting ready to ov I think maybe slightly early this month. DH unexpectedly away with work today but am planning on being rather busy all weekend and I feel knackered and really not in the mood DH getting worried I'm not pregnant yet.

Waves to all.
