Thanks Lastbox. I want to ask about spotting tomorrow!

OP posts:
Crazytictac · 19/06/2012 23:22

Good luck pipbin tomorrow!

Leftwingharpie · 20/06/2012 05:03

Lastbox I think you're probably right, it does make more sense.

Pipbin · 20/06/2012 07:46

Temp still up today confirming that I ov'd on sunday.
No spotting today, even after my run when I get lots of spotting if I am getting spotting, if you see what I mean.

Thanks for the good luck. I will report back.

That's a bit of good news anyway. I'll check on later to see how you got on.

blackcatsdancing · 20/06/2012 08:34

good luck today pipbin!

I've been trying to find out when hCG generally shows up on a test, i've read allsorts- including that women will have different levels throughout their pregnancy and that anything within the large range is ok and normal (i think in some cases women have repeat blood tests which must be incredibly stressful). anyway thought this was useful and succinct.

About hCG
The hCG hormone is manufactured by cells in the placenta after a fertilized egg is implanted in your uterus. According to the National Women's Health Information Center, the hCG hormone starts around six days after sperm meets ovum; however, in 10 percent of women, the fertilized egg isn't implanted until after the first day after a menstrual period is missed. The American Pregnancy Association, or APA, indicates that the hCG hormone in your body can be detected through a blood test around 11 days after conception. hCG shows up in your urine slightly later, between 12 and 14 days after conception.

blackcatsdancing · 20/06/2012 09:17

obviously some implantations are earlier, some later, but does seem that generally testing before 12DPO is a bit of a waste of money.

Treats · 20/06/2012 10:24

Another nice high temp for me today - just one point below yesterday's so not a temp 'dip' as such. Feeling very restless now. Trouble is, I'm not sure when I'm due. Officially, I'm 9dpo, but my temp taking has been a bit erratic, so I don't really know. I'm also on CD31 today and none of my cycles has been longer than 31 days, which strictly means that I ought to be expecting AF today or tomorrow. But obviously if I didn't ov until CD22, then I would have a longer cycle. If I actually ov'd on Day 17 - which is a possibility - then I'm on 14DPO today with no sign of AF......

I am driving myself mad. This time next week I shall be stocking up my handbag with Tampax and wondering why on earth I was making such a fuss........

lbot - I can't remember if you said you'd been to the drs about your spotting. The kind of pattern you're describing doesn't sound quite normal.

Pipbin - glad no spotting today. What you had yesterday could just have been residual ov spotting. Hope your appointment has gone well.

blackcats - thanks for the hcg info. I mustn't test until at least the weekend. I mustn't test until at least the weekend. I mustn't test until at least the weekend. I mustn't test until at least the weekend.........

Pipbin · 20/06/2012 10:35

Just got out of the appointment and so I'm wasting time before I get back to work.
They questioned my BMI again and said I really need to lose more weight. I don't think I can much more than I am but they said they won't do any treatment if my BMI get over 30 which at my height can be tipped over by a cup of tea before being weighed.

The upshot of it all was that they thought about putting me on clomid but they want to do another SA first as the first one had low motility.
Return appointment is on the 25th of July. Who knows, might get my BFP before that.

Absolutely pip! Glad out went ok and follow up not too far away

Pipbin · 20/06/2012 17:58

Oh and I asked about spotting at the appointment. She said that it's not a problem but can be an indicator of low progesterone.

Pipbin are you happy with how your appointment went then? When will they do the next SA? Will it be on 25 July, or is that the date of your next appointment following the SA?

Fingers crossed you get lucky before then.

Crazytictac · 20/06/2012 23:27

Hi all

pipbin bit annoying about the BMI. I know if my DH was at his ideal statistical BMI there wouldn't be anything left of him. Don't seem to take into account your frame or build. Glad things are moving forward for you albeit rather slowly and like you say you may never need that next appointment.....

treats it's hard not to get excited with those dates. This limbo stage is worse than finding I out I find as you just end up continually counting dates even though you've done the same calculation 10 minutes earlier. Really keeping everything crossed for you.

blackcats thanks for the info on HGC, really interesting. I was toying with the idea of testing on Saturday as it will be a significant date for us but will only be 10 DPO.....maybe I should wait in light of this.....hmmm.

blackcatsdancing · 21/06/2012 08:19

Hi all,
pipbin sounds like your appointment went ok. Hard with the weight thing but hope you keep it on the right side- with all your running you should.

well i think its over for me before it started. I tested with a superdrug- bought a pack of 2. tested 2 days ago in the pm and got another faint, wasn't too worried as it was the pm but not that happy. Tested again this morning and got a negative. That shouldn't happen so i have to assume i've had a chemical pregnancy- not sure what they are technically but i'm expecting to start bleeding soon.
Actually feeling ok with it, would much rather it went wrong/stopped at this stage than weeks down the line. oh well, onwards and upwards as they say.

Leftwingharpie · 21/06/2012 08:32

Oh blackcats that's no good babe. Had you ever got a positive before, or was that the first time? Keep us posted, it's not over till it's over. Even if it's not your month, you now know that your tubes are working and you're ovulating and timing it right.

Treats · 21/06/2012 09:54

Driving myself NUTS here. Am now on CD32 and all my previous cycles have been 30 or 31 days. I've been looking at my previous charts and noticed that - in all three of them - I had a significant temp drop on CD17 or 18. In two of these months, the temp drop coincided with ov - and then my period started 12 days later. In the middle month, FF thinks I didn't ov until three days after the temp drop, but then my period started only 8 days later. If my ov coincided with the temp drop - as it did in the other two months - my LP would have been 11 days, same as the other two.

So I'm thinking that FF got it wrong on that third month, and that ov coincided with the temp drop and my LP remained stable at 11 days. that would make sense right?

So - looking at this month - another significant temp drop at CD17. But FF reckons that ov didn't happen until CD22 - five days later. I'm only 10DPO if ov was on CD22. But, if ov actually happened on CD17, when the temp drop occurred, then I'm actually 15DPO......

Talked all this through with DH last night (he occasionally indulges my TTC madness Grin). He heard me out patiently until the end and then said "So, take a test?". So of course I said "Nooooo - because I might be only 9DPO and testing that early is MADNESS!" He shrugged and gave up......

I've stuffed my handbag full of tampons today. Determined not to tempt fate. If there's no sign of AF, then I shall test on Sunday when I would be 13DPO by FF's calculations.

Sorry - need to offload that. Off to try and think about something else now.

Treats · 21/06/2012 09:56

Oh blackcats - just saw your message. I'm so sorry Sad. Can HCG levels vary in early pregnancy do you think?

Fx for you that this is just a blip and that everything's OK. Thanks

Dillydollydaydream · 21/06/2012 11:29

So sorry about the recent test blackcat really hope this isn't the end for you. Will keep fingers crossed.

I'm not even sure when my next AF is due as it was 32 days this time - longest ever Hmm

Treats · 21/06/2012 11:49

Bugger.

Spotting.

Ignore my previous post.......

LimeLeafLizard · 21/06/2012 11:55

Hello all, just checking in to see how everyone's doing.

blackcats Sad oh dear, I really hope everything is OK for you. Not knowing and waiting is horribly stressful.

Treats FX for you.

Pipbin glad your hospital went ok, although bummer about the BMI thing. How does your DH feel about having to repeat the SA? Must be stressful for him too.

Crazytictac · 21/06/2012 14:38

blackcats :( I'm really sorry if this does turn out to be a chemical pregnancy. There's nothing really comforting to say but I guess that you have prepared yourself incase you do start bleeding. Hope you are ok.

treats might the spotting be implantation bleeding?

blackcatsdancing · 21/06/2012 14:41

treats it all sounds too confusing for me- let alone your DH ! Well i really hope your spotting doesn't lead to anything but you know your cycles.

I'm going to test again tomorrow. I went into ASDA on way home (had a half day at work today) and they do 3 dip stick tests for £1.49, picked up my free folic from them and they have given me some free samples. baby wipes and a newborn nappy i think- haven't looked properly yet. I'm not hopeful. I know hormone levels do fluctuate in early pregnancy but not hopeful.
On positive side i got pregnant again - so my November BFP was not a fluke caused by post pill surge - as i'd started to worry that was the only reason i'd got pregnant. And if something was going to go wrong would rather it was now than finding out at 12 week scan as before :(
I'm disappointed but lets see what happens tomorrow.
anyway new mattress came yesterday , bliss!

Pipbin · 21/06/2012 18:24

So sorry to hear that blackcats.

Sorry about the spotting Treats

Spotting here again today.
