that sounds grand pebs. This is my first month of proper swi too after mc in April so hopefully we will end the month together with our BFPs :)

I did the 30 day shred dvd at lunchtime as part of my fertility fitness drive and am shattered! Hmm

Moominsarescary · 28/06/2012 15:30

Hello everyone, move went well. Only have Internet on my phone at the mo and signal is rubbish

Morning sickness has arrived full force and ds3 does not like being in his own room so up and down all night which hasn't helped.

Hope everyone is ok x

MumTumWanted · 28/06/2012 15:33

Hi ladies

Just poppin in looks like I need to go catch up so much happening. Except for me im still waiting for appointments . I just want to ttc. Day 5 of cycle following 1st af. After erpc. I know I should wait ........ Had my bloods done .... Scan tonight on my ovaries and womb then another eternity to wait for a phone call telling me when my appointment is to discuss the results of this and the karotyping..... Wait I must ..... But I so don't want to Sad

pebspop · 28/06/2012 16:14

love the 30 day shred wild i did the first two levels but went out every night last week and didn't have chance to start level 3. then i didn't want to do it on monday with having surgery on tuesday.

will have a go tonight at level 2 again and might move to level 3 on monday.

i really felt the difference so should be able to get a bit toned for my holiday.

mumtum the waiting is a killer. i find it easier when i know when my appointments will be. can you pester the hospital for your results appt? can they not tell you about you ovaries and womb after the scan. my consultant came to see me after my surgery the other day to tell me his findings.

I must say liverpool womens hospital have been amazing so far. if anyone is thinking of being referred i say go for it!!

Evening all,

Good luck to wilde and pebs Grin

Well I feel drained after a potter around the supermarket and pets at home with mum today I got back to hers and had a huge nose bleed it just wouldn't stop, both nostrils, felt like I couldn't breath as it was running into my throat as well I choked and threw up a huge clot about the size of a £2, slightly bigger. Just had dinner and a few sweet biscuits and I'm resting. Scary stuff.

MumTumWanted · 28/06/2012 20:58

Thanks buggerlugs am trying to stay positive but I just want to get on with ttc!!!

Well had my scan And no retained products and everything looks the right shape and size tube and womb wise so this is obviously good news Smile but as the sonographer said dosent help when finding a reason for the recurrent mc. Sad so defo have to wait now for the results and to see if its worth ttc again just wish I knew when I could get them Sad

Hope everyone's havin a good evening Smile

pebspop · 28/06/2012 21:21

mumtum

i think it takes about 6 weeks to get the blood test results.

can you ring your consultant to get an appointment. i think it will make the waiting easier if you know whats happening. liverpool gave me an appointment for the follow up when i was at the blood test appointment. they really have their shit together!

maybe if you did ttc now you would have your results before you found out you had bfp and could start any treatment. most people seem to need aspirin from bfp and maybe heparin injections if anything is found on the tests. i can't start heparin until they have seen a heartbeat so from 6 weeks.

unless you have a chromosome problem - which is pretty rare - i think they will only be looking for blood clotting which is usually treated with aspirin from bfp and heparin from 6 weeks so maybe you could ttc.... even if you have a chromosome problem i think you just keep trying until you beat the odds.

did your consultant advise whether you should ttc or not? mine told me to wait until the hysteroscopy had been done but he told me i can get on with it now!

i am ttc now and if it works first cycle i will be 6 weeks when i get my blood test results. although this will be the third time i have had these tests so not sure anything new will show up.

state that nose bleed sounds bad - i have never had one in my life - strange eh!?

orangebowl · 28/06/2012 21:33

Hi everyone. I haven't been around for a while. I posted when I got pregnant after 3 miscarriages ( got DS aged 3 already). This time last week saw heartbeat and measured 8+1. Private scan yesterday no heartbeat measuring 9 wks. Must have just happened. Hospital confirmed it today. Booked in tomorrow at hospital for my 3rd ERPC in18 months, 4th miscarriage. I really thought this one would be ok. Had blood clotting and karyotyping tests already as well as hysteroscopy- all normal. Was taking asprin this time which clearly hasn't worked . Believed all the "bad luck" talk up until now but this is one too many . Does anyone know what other tests I should ask for? How can I suddenly have developed something when DS pregnancy was so straightforward? Sorry for all the questions, hope everyone else ok today.

backwardpossom · 28/06/2012 21:37

So sorry school, have some hugs from my end as I have no idea about tests and things x

YikesHereWeGo · 28/06/2012 21:38

ooh, pebs, I've got a heart-shaped uterus too! ("bicornuate uterus".) I don't know anyone else who has one, but I'm glad I'm not alone :)
I did lots of googling when I found out (at the time of my 7.5 week scan in April before I mc'd) and I definitely recommend not googling! It's all lies lies lies. The midwifes I've spoken to say it's totally fine and quite a 'normal variant' so definitely not something to worry about.

orangebowl · 28/06/2012 21:38

Thanks backward. That's a good start :)

school did any blood clotting problems how up when you had your testing? have you been referred to a recurrent miscarriage clinic. the best one is st marys in london but thats a bit far for me so i have been to liverpool. i have found them excellent so far. i am really hoping they get me a baby!

have you read miscarriage: what every woman should know by lesley regan? it;s a really good book which tells you everything about testing. lesley regan runs the miscarriage clinic in london.

my consultant at liverpool reckons local hospitals don't do the blood clotting tests properly as they don't have the volumes going through them. a specialist clinic will ve doing the same tests day in day out and will get more accurate results.

i went to the london clinic for a private appointment a couple of months ago and they got positive results on tests that my local hopsital found to be negative so it;s worth going to the experts.

some people say vitamin d deficiency can be a problem for miscarriage. i might try taking the tablets this time.

also natural killer cells could be causing it but this is a controvertial idea and i think you have to be tested privatley for it. mr shehata is the expert on this.

i am on a thread in the miscarriage board called recurrent miscarriage testing. theres loads of advice on there.

yikes i know what google says as i googled ages ago. scary stuff! the doctors i have seen say it's not a problem so i will believe them!

orangebowl · 28/06/2012 22:11

pebs you are a star! Thanks so much. Blood clotting came back normal. I am at Trafford general/ Wythenshawe but funnily enough the sonogropher today mentioned he worked at Liverpool and what a great department that is. How would I go about getting in there privately? Or can you get yourself theremin the NHS? ( we can do private if have to). Will get on amazon and order that tonight thanks. I will also have a good read of the miscarriage testing thread ( lots of waiting around in hospital tomorrow for doing that!)

No harm in the vit D I guess so will get onto that next time. Thanks so much. May PM you after tomorrow when I am back getting into it all. Sigh... It's that here we go again feeling for now...

Xx

DonkeyTeapot · 28/06/2012 23:47

School I'm sorry about your troubles :( I don't know anything about testing but hope you get some helpful results.

State Your nosebleed sounds horrible! I feel like I know you after following your thread about the car-dwelling neighbours :) Keep resting. (A few more biscuits can't hurt either.)

If anyone fancies a nice bit of TMI, I have still been bleeding, much like a normal period, until yesterday when I passed a horrid lumpy clot. Since then it has been more like snotty blood-streaked mucus. Less today though, maybe it's easing off? I'm at the hospital tomorrow, not really sure what they're going to do...

Night guys, wishing good things for everyone xx

Midgetm · 29/06/2012 07:38

school I was tested at my local hospital after about 4 or 5 and they also found nothing. I didn't believe in bad luck either. Referred to St Mary's and they did find a clotting disorder from the TEG test and prescribed 150mg aspirin. I got pregnant twice but still miscarried but very early on and one was a chromosomal issue (odds high for me as I am old) and one suspected EP, but now deep breath 23 weeks. Don't give up, get to see a specialist. They can find stuff a RMC won't find. St Mary's were so confident that I would have a successful pregnancy it made me believe it too. That really helped I think. They also scanned every 2 weeks from a BFP. They say this helps with better out ones. They don't know why, maybe just stress reduction. Hang in there and get a referral. If you can't get to see prof Regan then definitely get the book pebs suggested. Basically, if I can get pregnant I have started to believe anyone can. Good luck and come on here when you start to go crazy.

maples I will try and look at that thread. If you have had recurrent miscarriages expectant management is physiologically damaging in my opinion. I have to just get it over, the alternative is too heartbreaking for me.

Donkey sounds like you could be nearing the end. Sorry you are having a shit time (holds hand).

pebs so happy you got some answers. Answers is all we all want really. Very bad that you were left with retained products. Also took my hospital 3 months and an infection to find some with one of my MC's after a nasty infection. Good job sorted before it went bad. Kind of shocking nobody had checked considering your spotting but all's well that ends well.

Well still pregnant, still not brought anything for the baby but regular kicks reassuring me it is still with us. Scan next week to check on that bastard amniotic band. blimey. whispers back to Martha, yes just one week to viability, shall I lock myself in a cupboard?

Best go, DD running amuck.

Midgetm · 29/06/2012 07:39

Sorry that is a RMC will find stuff a consultant won't find. Silly midget pregnancy brain.

orangebowl · 29/06/2012 08:59

midget that's a pretty amazing story. Wow. You definitely give me hope.

I had my DS at 29 an am 33 now. I know that's not too bad but I think when this happens you always wish you started earlier whatever age you are.

150mg asprin is double the "standard" dose isn't it. They gave me 75mg but to be honest it felt like they just threw it out there randomly without any specific reason ( I know it has been shown to help). I was planning to go back to work on monday but think I will wait till Tuesday ( work been lovely about it all) and spend Monday making phone calls/ appointments etc and speak to Liverpool, st Mary's etc if I can.

Off to hospital in an hour. Bit nervous a last time I had an ERPC I then didn't have a period for 6 months (just what I needed with all the miscarriages!) but my body always holds onto my pregnancies so I know it won't happen naturally. Oh well. Hopefully will be ok this time. ( how many times have we all thought that!?)

Thanks for all your encouraging words and more importantly great info.

Midgetm · 29/06/2012 09:12

School I think 75 is the 'just chuck it at you and see' dose and 150 is the 'found a clotting issue dose!'See I am virtually a Doctor. I think all any of us need are reasons and a little bit of hope. A little bit of hope goes a long way. (leaves white coat on the side and slips into Wimbledon outfit)

squeakymac · 29/06/2012 09:22

Ooh have fun at wimbledon midget!

I have just bought a fetal Doppler online! Saw on another thread you found it reassuring midget so thought f**k it if it saves me one private reassurance scan it'll have paid for itself. Also, booked in with an obstetrician privately (crappy Irish health system) who doesn't charge other docs so saved a good bit there too!

Smile
pebspop · 29/06/2012 09:51

School i went to st marys in london for a private appointment and some testing. they found a blood clotting problem but still advised 75mg of aspirin.

it is about £1k for the consultation, the full range of rmc tests and the follow up consultation. i think this is a pretty good price for what you get.

i saw raj rai at this clinic www.92harleystreet.com/ there was a waiting list so got in quickly. i think there is a longer list if you want to see lesley regan but raj works closely with her anyway. i would say they are the best specialists in the country. i found london was a bit of a pain to get to though as i live in lancashire.

i got reffered to liverpool by my local consultant. but whilst i was waiting for the referral to come through i went to their private clinic.

www.liverpoolwomens.nhs.uk/Our_Services/Private_Care/The_Catharine_Suite.aspx

they don't do private testing at liverpool so i basically had a chat with the consultant there and then went back into the nhs system. still nice to have someone listen to you for a while! it was £225 for the consultation.

if i was you i would ring your consultant today and see if they will refer you to liverpool/london to get the ball rolling. it will probably take 6-8 weeks to get an appointment. then go to private consultations if you want to.

pebspop · 29/06/2012 09:53

sorry meant to say there was not a waiting list for london private clinic!

wilderumpus · 29/06/2012 10:28

sorry to hear about your troubles school. I hope you are ok and looks like the lovely ladies here are looking after you ok :)

donkey sounds like you must have passed another wee bit. that happened to me then the bleeding eased off straight away.

those NICE guidelines of making every woman wait for up to 14 days for an mc sound horrific. I had to wait 20 days for good reason and it was bad enough, let alone if you KNOW you have mc'ed. what if you work? are you meant to try and be normal while waiting to mc?! shit me, this is just awful and inhumane. all for money. :(

eugh state nasty nosebleed. Poor you.

is good that you are all clear on the scan mum. AM sorry you are still in the dark about the cause though.

sorry if I have missed people, had some Wine last night and am a bit bleary and thick this morning. DH said he is happy to try and make a baby this month. ooh!

Jollyb · 29/06/2012 15:16

school so sorry to hear about what you're going through at the moment. I know what you mean about thinking this pregnancy will be 'the one '.

pebs glad you're making some forward steps - onwards to a BFP.

I don't know what's going on with me. due on today but no sign as yet and cramps have disappeared. Did a test this am and negative (splashed out on a digital) . Just hoping the miscarriage hasn't buggered everything up My last cycle arrived on time and so thought everything was back to normal.
