oo00PIXIE00oo · 21/06/2012 20:15

backwardpossom · 21/06/2012 20:32

MrsPear · 21/06/2012 21:50

pixie you are pregnant. Wow! Congrats. Start taking the folic acid and don't worry about footballs. Wonderful news

gothinrecovery · 21/06/2012 21:51

Pixie that is just wonderful news, congratulations. :)

ConfusedMumDotCom · 21/06/2012 22:05

Congratulations Pixie Grin hopefully there will be a few more of us joining you soon.

oo00PIXIE00oo · 21/06/2012 22:20

Thanks ladies and I do hope most of you join me soon I feel a bit guilty Blush xx would love some advice about early scans etc I hadn't even seen a mw when I had my mc in April x

Midgetm · 21/06/2012 22:28

pixie a thousand congratulations on your BFP. The football thing should be fine according to my virtually a doctor knowledge.

If you want an early scan try and hang on as late as you can bear. As dates could be screwed I would aim for 7 weeks. Hard I know but guidelines say normally you have to wait another 2 weeks if inconclusive which should be avoided at all costs.

Congratulations and don't feel guilty. This thread has magic powers. That's all there is to it.

kirrinIsland · 21/06/2012 23:17

Congratulations pixie Grin brilliant news.

I won't say don't worry, because of course you will, but try to enjoy it as well.

Agree with midget about waiting for a scan. I had my first at nearly 8 weeks which I think is a pretty good time, although it'll feel like a long time comng....

StateofConfusion · 21/06/2012 23:27

Congratulations Pixie, I rang MW straight away and got some vitamins :)

Midgetm · 22/06/2012 08:27

8 weeks is actually even better as statistically means more chance of viability. I can never wait that long though impatient midget person

farfallarocks · 22/06/2012 09:27

Hello lovely ladies, just to let you all know, scan went very well this morning, a gorgeous little girl, sucking her thumb and kicking away. The sonographer was brilliant and walked us through every step as I was so nervous. I feel like the luckiest woman alive today. Good luck to all those with scans coming up. xx

Midgetm · 22/06/2012 09:45

far lovely news, lovely little girl. Bloody lovely.

StateofConfusion · 22/06/2012 09:58

Great news far :)

wilderumpus · 22/06/2012 10:50

Grand, sorry to hear about your DGMIL. Am delighted about hearing the heartbeat, hurray for that.

congratulations on your BFP pixie! Definitely wait till 7/8 wks for a scan so you KNOW :)

and congrats on your little girl far! brilliant news!

I need a firm slap please. I poas even though I am only 8dpo! And even worse I am mardy that it was (obviously) BFN. wtf?! Am the most impatient, ridiculous person in the world! 8dpo! And now, on top of that ridiculousness, I think I have jinxed any chance i might have had of being pg! grrr, silly woman. Am going out for the day with DS, even though it is raining.

feel better for confessing, thanks peeps.

ConfusedMumDotCom · 22/06/2012 11:10

Oh wilde hide those sticks in the kitchen. Mine are with the coffee, so no chance of caving in early. My AF is due on Tuesday, I think. I'm getting nervous and excited. But I refuse to waste money POAS early this time.

Today is CD25 and I have mild cramps. This is clearly a sign I am pg and not that AF is on the way

Midgetm · 22/06/2012 11:11

Wilde Hide those bloody sticks and give yourself a good slap. Although in my opinion that is what IC's are for. Just don't let it depress you - it means NOTHING.

wilderumpus · 22/06/2012 11:19

I'm due on weds confused! I wanted to test on sun which is still rather early. Really I want to not test at all but waiting waiting and then AF come is too crushing. Try and make me strong! I generally prefer to test early and have a more gentle let down over a few days otherwise I convince myself I am pg (i always have symptoms!)

I feel really quite sick; it is just really sinking in that I am probably ill! Ug.

wilderumpus · 22/06/2012 11:20

thanks midget. especially for saying the BFN means nothing :)

ttc is a fools errand!

Tiago · 22/06/2012 11:47

Jaffa I will be having a hospital birth. I just want the baby out safely and happy, and way way too many people that I know have been born via EMCS or had to be resucitated at birth due to cords wrapped around their necks.

MrsPear · 22/06/2012 12:54

hello everyone!

Congrats on the scan far - another girl due. This is a very pink thread Grin

wilde at this stage bfn means nothing. Stand back from the sticks until at least Tuesday.

Anyone have any knowledge of pessaries to prevent early birth? My cervix is 17mm which is no good apparently Confused Had booking in appointment. I am high risk and having consultant led care shared between Kings and PRU. Next appointment with cervix clinic at Kings - can you imagine asking for that one?! Grin - on the 02.07.

icequeenkate · 22/06/2012 13:35

congrats on the successful scans - this does seem to be a pink thread, but suspect I'll be turning it a blue tinge soon when I can confirm that I'm having another boy! Statistically, I'm right.

Mrs Pear - i don't know anything about that - other than a friend had a stitch once? But your asking for the cervix clinic did make me snortle! Grin Good luck with the appointment, not long to wait.

wilde step away from the sticks 8dpo??? Tee hee.. we've all done it! Grin And Dr Midget is correct - it means nowt.

pixie congrats on your BFP. I agree with waiting til 8wks. I wanted to tell you something the lovely sonographer pointed out to me on Wednesday at my early scan? Apparently one of the reasons there are a number of mmc around 6.5-7.5 wks is because this is the time the yolk sac becomes redundant/used up and the early placenta has to kick in. At 7+5 this 'transfer' should have completed so she advised going after 8wks. She suggested that although a heartbeat can been seen as early as 6 wks this might not be particularly reassuring as in her opinion the sac/placenta thing was more of an issue. Sorry I probably haven't explained it very well and have gone on for a long time, so will hand the white coat and stethoscope back to Dr Martha and Dr Midget. 8 weeks, anyway! Good luck with the wait.

farfallarocks · 22/06/2012 13:43

:) for all your messages

mrs pear I have read about progesterone being given to reduce the risk or pre term labour I read about it when researching progesterone generally which I took until the end of the first trimester. I found it much better to insert via the back door, less irritating!

pixie I was also told that a heartbeat after 8 weeks is a great sign as most MC actually happen at 8 weeks or befroe (even if not discovered until later) as that is a critical time in the development of the fetus/placenta

icequeenkate · 22/06/2012 13:55

Smile see? Told you someone else would explain it better than me! Thanks far Grin
