Day 21 test help needed!

I'm going for a day 21 test, which should be next Sunday, but the clinic is only open Monday to Friday and will also be closed Monday and Tuesday for the bank holiday. Can anyone advise whether there be any point in going on the Wednesday (which would be day 24) or the previous Friday (which would be day 19)? Or would it be too late/too early to get any useful result?

Thanks in advance!

I had this issue two months running last year (royal wedding and then May bank holiday). V annoying.

Do you know when you ovulate? The test should really be done 7 days after ov, so day 21 might not be the right day anyway. If you do ovulate around day 14, it might be worth waiting a month to get a result that is as accurate as possible.

I would go on the Wednesday then it will be done as close as possible to the Sunday anyway. It won't make any real difference to the overall result.

The day 21 is only part of the story however. Have they done a Day 2 test to date to check and compare your LH level against that of your FSH level?. That is a useful blood test to have done as LH and FSH kickstart the ovulation process. They ought to be doing a day 2 as well as having regular blood tests done to see what is properly happening with regards to your hormone levels.

Only around 12% of all women have a 28 day cycle as well. Ovulation as well is not an exact science; it can occur earlier, later or not at all in any given cycle.

I'm glad you said that eurochick as I was calculating it on that basis! I got a positive OPK yesterday and what I think was ovulation pain today so am counting it as 7 days from today.

Attila I got the referral forms after day 2 of my last cycle so was going to do the day 2 one after the day 21 test. My GP said it wouldn't matter which way round I did it but I guess as it would be a bit late to go for my day 21 this month maybe I should wait and just do both tests in the same cycle. I should stop being so impatient I suppose! :)

Thanks for your help guys!
