TTC after a miscarriage and a myomectomy at 41

Hi,
My partner and I have decided to try for a baby but I feel all the odds are stacked against us.
For starters I'm 41 and had a myomectomy in January last year after having a miscarriage due to fibroids.
In a way I'm scared to fall pregnant as I couldn't cope with all the heartache we went through in 2010.
I was initially told I couldn't conceive until I had my fibroids removed so stopped using contraception then fell pregnant the very next month.
Was told I had a high chance of miscarrying by 12 weeks didn't but started bleeding at 11 weeks, told if I made it to 16weeks the chances of a miscarriage were slim. I suddenly miscarried at 18weeks.
Basically I wanted to know if anyone out there had gone in to have a baby post-myomectomy and at my grand age.

Thanks

I am so sorry for your loss. I had an abdominal myomectomy to remove two large fibroids at the beginning of 2011. I became pregnant 8 months later (after 5 months of trying) and my darling little girl was born less than 2 weeks before my 42nd birthday in June.

(I realise this is quite an old thread but I wanted to answer just in case you were still ttc.)
