Question to all of you out there- yesterday PM used internet cheapie early PG test and there was the faintest of second lines. So picked up a First Response which also showed a really faint second line.......... Decided to test again this morning with FMU using internet cheapie and second First Response and today no second lines...... I'm on CD 27 and either 11 or 13 DPO what do you think??

Have also posted this on another thread- any advice greatly recieved!

Hi Stephie no great answers for you, but wanted to at least give you a bit of support as it is really hard not knowing.

This could either be because it is very early on yet so not enough HCG to give consistent results or because it is a PG that will not progress ( a chemical PG). If it is too early in a couple of days the results should be better, although i admit it is a loooonnnnnng couple of days.

I am in exactly the same position. Got a faint positive on thursday last week on an ic, bought a first response on friday and got a pregant on that, then used two more cheapies on saturday and got no second line.

Because of my history i'm supposed to have blood tests as soon as i get a positive so had one done yesterday, and will have a follow up tomorrow. That will tell me if the HCG is rising or not. My result from yesterday was very low but that could still mean because its either very early or because its ending. So i have to wait for the result to come back.

If you wanted clarity, is there a self referring early pregnancy unit near you that you could go to and ask for the HCG blood tests?

Alternatively you could wait a few days and try another First Response?

Sorry not to have a definitive answer, i know the waiting is dreadful. Good luck

Thanks Boris - i think the confusion and inclusiveness is frustrating but hey ho what will be will be i guess!! Loads of period type pains and cramps this morning but nothing!

DH has done all this TTC business before so is a little ?? How i would describe...... His comments so far include : "F*k me your only a couple of days late- you will get a more accurate reading at the end of the week**

I hope tomorrow goes well for you - i will have my FX crossed Smile

Oh dear, the DH's!!

I have forced mine into endless circular conversations along the lines of 'what do you think it means there's no line', 'what do you think the result will be tomorrow' etc etc.

FX for you too, maybe we'll both be ok and be due about the same time :)

Boris are you out there? I wanted to find out how it went for you? I have changed my name since starting the thread lol Smile

WhyAlwaysBoris · 24/05/2012 18:52

Hi I love your new name!

How are you doing?

Bad news for me, my hcg had dropped so at some point in the next few days or weeks i will start to miscarry. Although i thought it might not work out i'm still very upset, which perhaps isn't very logical but there we go.

I hope it is much better news for you- please let me know how you get on

Love, Boris

DiscoDomina · 24/05/2012 21:48

Sorry to hear that Boris - i think even if you weren't expecting good news it doesn't make it any easier or any better when it is confirmed, and whats logic gotta do with how you feel??

It turns out that the second pg test i did that i thought there was no line there was a VERY faint second line (discovered later that night upon further staring at!) Anyway i bought a FRER tonight and got a definate BFP!!! I'm SO shocked and very overwhelmed as first time round for me!!

Really am gutted for you- hope you will start to feel ok as soon as poss and are able to put back the pieces in your own time

Steph x

Oh Steph that is brilliant! Many, many congratulations! :)

DiscoDomina · 29/05/2012 13:55

Thanks Boris - that means a lot. I hope you are doing ok at the moment x
