Please can someone give me some advice, iv done 4 home pregnancy tests and they have been clear blue and they have all come up positive. I went to my gp yesterday and he did a test and told me it was negative. After coming out the doctors i was so disappointed and upset that i decided to go and get another clear blue test which once again came up positive when i got home. I rang my doctors back up and went back in again in the afternoon. I explained to her that I had a cyst 4 years bk that showed a positive test but my doctor is telling me a cyst doesnt cause a positive test when i was told 4 years bk it does. I lost a baby 3 years ago when a sac performed but no embro. Im so confused what is going on as i had my last period 11th april and a slight bleed on the 15th and tested on the 18th and showed positive and now we are on the 22nd and it is still saying positive, I am experiencing cramps like my period is coming and my appettise hasnt been very good and iv lost 9 pounds in a week im worried that its a cyst not a pregnancy. I have to have a scan on the 30th but wondered if any1 could give me some advice of what they think is happening, Thank you

I can't give you any real advice but didn't want you to go unanswered. I don't know whether a cyst causes a positive test or not. I think the best thing is to hang in there until the 30th as a scan should be able to tell you if it is a cyst or a pregnancy. Wishing you all the best.

I would try a pink dye test like First Response or superdrugs or even a digital. I don't trust blue dye tests as they are notorious for giving false positives.

If you get a positive on one of the above I would take it to your GP to show them and demand some investigations are done.

our docs dont do tests they trust the home pregnancy ones, id vote for a superdrug one as they are major sensitive and are the pink dye.

i think a cyst can show a positive (although my knowledge is from coronation street not irl)

i agree but one of the other tests were sainsburys own make and those 2 came bk positive to, i totally agree with u with what you say about coronation street as they would not be allowed to show it if it didnt happen in real life. My docotors wasnt very helpful but i am 6 weeks 2morrow if i am and will be 7 weeks by the time my scan so should be able 2 see sumthing.

if i were you i'd try and hold out for the scan tbh, at 7 weeks they should be able to see baby (blob) but may not be able to see a heartbeat yet.

I had a scan at 8 weeks and baby was a blob but had a heartbeat.

Fingers crossed for you, sorry your doc is quite so useless!

fingers crossed for you, try and relax, stressing wont help baby (says she who went for an early scan because DCs had slap cheek and she couldn't wait the 2 weeks for the bloo test results to tell her if she was immune, just needed someone to tell her her baby was ok Blush)
