my best friend says she is having a "mad depressive moment" because she wants to get pregnant but is not getting that sticky discharge you are supposed to get when you are ovulating, and worries if she is infertile. she is 36. any advice welcome

either go to gp for blood test or you can buy a kit to test for the LH surge that happens before ovultion. You need a fairly regular period to do it though.

Has she any other symptoms of menopause. She's still very young imo.I had ds at 40.

I don't recall seeing any EWCM and I have had 3 children at age 37, 38 and 41.

How long has she been trying to conceive? Has she tried the temperature method of estimating ovulation? Might be a better indicator than the mucus.

I hadn't even heard about cm until I was trying for no.2.

I was 37.7 when I had my first, 40.5 with my second (plus a miscarriage in between). All conceived within 1 - 4 months of trying.

Good luck to your friend - we (and our children) are living proof it is possible!

Hello there

Wondered if anyone could give me any advice. I'm a 44 year old trying to conceive. Conceived after 2 months of trying 8 months ago but sadly miscarried at 5 weeks. It was the first time I've ever been pregnant or tried to get pregnant. However just had my FSH level taken and that's 30 and my AMH level is less than 1 . Was told my only option is donor eggs. I've been having accupunture and taking Chinese herbal medicine for last month - someone else suggested IUI - what do people think? Are there any success stories out there with women with similiar data/age to me?
