Hi,

I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance that I'm normal - we have been TTC for nearly a year now, I have regular 27 day cycles since I got my periods back after having DS, and I'm pretty sure I ovulate around day 14/15 (based on OPKs and EWCM). The first couple of times I conceived (first time ended in mmc) I conceived on the 2nd cycle. I think we're on the 10th cycle this time around.

I guess I'm disappointed as I was keen for a less than 2yr age gap, and we're past that now. I know I should feel lucky, especially compared to friends of mine who have taken years to conceive (and those who are still trying) but I just don't understand - we're having sex at the right times, I've got all the signs of ovulation, what's not working?!?

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, or words of wisdom, I'd really appreciate it - feeling pre-menstrual today and a bit Sad

E&B

Just to check, are you trying before ovulation? Sperm can live for a few days. Sometimes people try only when they have confirmed ovulation but the egg only lives 12 hours or so, so that's too late. I'm sure you only know this though!

(sorry, not necessarily too late, but perhaps gives a better chance if you try before as well). Hope someone else has some tips for you.

If you're over 35 you could see a doctor about this now, if you're under 35 then see the GP after you've tried for a year.

Thanks!! I'm 34, so I'll wait a little longer before seeing the GP....got AF this morning, great way to start the working week.

We try to have sex every 2-3 days during the month, but always on both days around when I ovulate (i.e. I think I'm ovulating on day 15, so we have sex on both day 14 and day 15, if that makes sense). I'm wondering if I could actually be ovulating on day 16 and maybe we're doing it too early and missing it, but who knows. Just disheartened I guess, we are passing all the milestones/events that I thought I would be pregnant for - off on holiday soon and I remember when we booked it last year I said "well, I'll do all the driving as I won't be able to drive as I'll be pregnant then" and of course, I'm not. Bah!!

xx
