Have a breastfed baby or toddler? Why not try for another one?! Who needs sleep anyway?

Come join us whether you are waiting for your first period in months or are are a few months into trying.

bigbo me neither. I want 2 as well for practical reasons that you've mentioned - car, money. Also day out family tickets tend to be for 2 adults and 2 children.

Jakeyblueblue · 10/10/2012 22:50

Evening all,
I am also well jel of other preggo people! It's so daft like you say but this ttc sends you a bit loopy I think!
I am planning on tandem feeding if ds still wants to. Would rather not but know i won't Have the guts to wean. Kind of hoping he self weans whilst I'm pregs!
Cd 7 here so have got a few days to gear myself up to dtd everyday! Grin

jennimoo · 11/10/2012 06:42

I don't plan on weaning DD although may start to discourage her from feeding (like a newborn...) as time goes on. I'm also hoping she might quit of her own accord, but doubt it!

I can imagine ill be sat with a 3yo curled up at my side and a newborn on my lap drinking milk at the same time, but I suppose at least ill know where the mobile one is then!

BigBoPeep · 11/10/2012 08:53

the lazy part of me desperately wants to tandem so i can have a nice lie down when pregnant/got a new baby and nobody is crying everybody is included and loved Grin

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 11/10/2012 09:06

Am I the only one who doesn't want to tandem feed? In the last couple of weeks, I started to feel it's time to wean DD. She is 18mo, and already down to only 1 feed a day. But yes, the thought of trying to feed newborn while chasing after little miss chief is slightly daunting.

jakey if only we could dtd everyday! We managed about 3 times a week. There's always something going wrong. DD not sleep well making us all tired, work, poorly toddler/adult. It's so much harder to find time now than before children.

Thinkingof4 · 11/10/2012 12:53

I can't see me tandem feeding either. I had already stopped by this stage with first 2 so I feel ds3 is doin well to still be on 2 feeds per day at 16months. However I am thinking along the lines of anything for an easier life....

Think I may have ov'd early again, no nearly as much dtd as planned ( only once!) due to everyone being ill so not too confident about this month

Jakeyblueblue · 11/10/2012 14:39

We might dtd everyday but its only on the right few days, then nothing for the rest of the month Grin you are right, it's a nightmare finding the time, especially as we co sleep and dh is in the spare room because of his snoring! It's like a military operation! I usually have to sneak in to his room after ds drops off! So romantic!
Toddlingterror, ds is only on a bedtime feed now and a couple of slurps in the night. I can see progress that he's dropping feeds himself so kind of think I will just carry on and let nature take its course. I suspect my supply will take a nose dive when finally Preg anyway. AF really reduces it so obviously sensitive to the hormones.
Thinking of 4, it's usually the no hope months that produce the bfp! Fingers crossed Smile

jennimoo · 11/10/2012 15:41

jakey phew, was beginning to think that I'd never get pg DTD a couple of times a month, if you wre DTD every day! We've even waited til O looked very close as DH 'ran out of...steam' last month just as we got to the vital few days...
Got a + opk last night and so looks like any day now, so a slightly shorter cycle looks likely. Trying to be really relaxed and not stress about stuff (not easy as suffer with anxiety!) to give us a good chance this month.

Fingers crossed all round!

LolaDontCryOverSpiltBleach · 11/10/2012 17:28

We have so far been having sex everyday that i am not on my period, but that's only because DP works dodgy hours so we can usually sneak when DS is having his afternoon nap Blush

DP i think is still managing so far

In my last pregnancy i was like some kind of sex fueled beast and DP thought it was great! Grin

TizzyNo1 · 12/10/2012 13:39

Hey all! Thanks for congrats [:)], just been for early scan - measurements look right and yolk sac present but wee bit early to see any bubba :(. Sooo frustrating! Back next week.. But also wanted to report feeling bit anxious and wondering if any other bfp Breastfeeding mums had similar? Boob monsters sleep been bad - up for 2 hours in night 4 times this wk, bedtime hellish last night (but then bugger me he slept through!) - and I've been feeling so stressed, angry and a bit lost. Could it be preg hormones? One minute I'm happy, next I'm terrified - normal?! Shit wHat if I feel like this for 40 weeks?! Am I going crazy...? Am I just sleep deprived and fretting? Some sanity needed please! Also, for those considering night weaning, take heart - my boy is incessant and I still got preg, so even if I did mc again it is possible to get preg! I always think with night weaning, what if I did it and he still woke? What the hell would I do then? It's all so confusing! But then that's me at the mo: confused.mum :/

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 12/10/2012 14:48

tizzy glad to see the scan comes back with good news. Just want to right about my experience with night weaning. But mine was a good sleeper waking only once a night before night weaning. And after weaning she slept through .... until we went on holiday, and she went back to waking up once a night. What happened when a night weaned baby waking up again? I kept going into the room, speaking in a low voice to DD and told her that mummy is here, don't cry and go to sleep. Some nights it took over an hour for her to drift back to sleep. She's now back to sleeping through again after about 2 weeks of this waking up.

It's your decision if you are to night wean. We did it at 15mo, and I know she's more than ready for it. And I was right because when we initially did the night weaning, we were co-sleeping. And she was completely happy with a cuddle with me, and would drift back to sleep lying on my chest.

TizzyNo1 · 12/10/2012 21:41

That sounds really encouraging! Obviously ds is not ready, otherwise maybe I'd be tempted ;). Good to hear other strategies for future ref, ta for that!

MayfairMummy · 14/10/2012 19:27

Hi all.. I'm still lurking, tho illness all round plus a house move seems to have made me crankymayfairmummy this past fortnight. Not positive for DTD. On the plus side, AF is back at 7 months after DS2. Now if i could just get some sleep and get out from under these boxes then i might stop hoping for an immaculate conception.
I think i've gotten old. I can't imagine thinking like this 5 years ago...insert saggy bellied, droopy boobed, overtired bout of feeling sorry for oneself here. Sorry. Just had to whinge. Pregnancy hormones aren't that likely to help this are they Hmm Sigh. Back to the boxes.

Thinkingof4 · 14/10/2012 20:48

Hello all
tizzy glad the scan was ok, hope you feel a bit less tired soon. Early pregnancy is always hard from tiredness pov so I'm sure you'll feel better soon

I've had the dreaded stomach bug this weekend and not sure if I've ov'd yet at all, as still ewcm (lots) so I'm a bit Confused
There's always something comes up isn't there!!
Maybe if I have delayed ov it will give me the chance to dtd at the right time after all!

jennimoo · 14/10/2012 21:00

Good to hear about the scan tizzy

It's 2ww for me. Im about 4dpo now, Oed earlier than usual but thankfully opk and Ewcm made it quite clear so DTD at the right time.

Trying to be relaxed and positive. I sure ill get pg this month: I already have wedding anniversary, DHs birthday and Father's Day in June, so if DC2 is early like DD them it'll be June...

jennimoo · 14/10/2012 21:01

I'm not sure that made sense, am exhausted. Must be pg Wink

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 15/10/2012 10:35

Sorry to hear about your stomach bug thinkingof4. I had one last week, but it's past ovulation. My period is gone, so it's another month of hoping and praying for me! Hope this month will work better for you (and everyone else still waiting for the bfp here).

jennimoo it makes sense. And yes, maybe you are pg already Grin.

Thinkingof4 · 15/10/2012 13:25

Grin fx jennimoo that you are!
I must be on 2ww by now as well but I'm probably only 1 or 2 dpo

Ds3 has been waking more in night again, not sure why, but I'm trying to not feed him each time he wakes with some success but I'm not being consistent enough I think. This night weaning is hard, but I'm away for 3 days/ 2 nights in about 3 weeks so I'm going to have to do something different before then or I'll end up with mastitis while I'm away, not to mention how confusing it would be for the wee man. I really didn't expect to still be feeding at this stage. Help! Any suggestions welcome. I'm currently feeding morning and night and sometime small feed during night. Obv that's the first to stop, but then what Confused. Sad

Thinkingof4 · 15/10/2012 13:26

Thanks onelittle horrible isn't it? People are dropping like flies round here at the moment

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 15/10/2012 13:47

thinkingof4 have you looked at Dr Jay Gordon's night weaning method?

Jakeyblueblue · 15/10/2012 17:30

Hi all, what's with all the stomach bugs? I've had ds vomiting most of the day today. Used an entire bottle of bleach in an attempt to avoid any lurgy myself.
Jenni fingers crossed! Sounds like this could be your lucky cycle!
Thinking of 4, no real advice on night weaning as im too chicken to do it but I have got the no cry sleep solution book and was quite impressed with her suggestions and methods. Think you can get it on amazon.
I'm on cd 11 here and got ewcm. What's that all about. Caved and did an opk which I found and was neg. this made me feel better as I really didn't feel like dtd today in between clearing up vomit. I guess I better try tmrw and stick to my plan of dtd everytime I have ewcm. Smile

Thinkingof4 · 15/10/2012 18:47

onelittle just had a look at dr Jay Gordon, he's mainly focused on co-sleeping but it can be adapted for those in their own beds. Just had a look and I think it might be worth a try so thank you for the suggestion
jakey thanks for that too but I already have that book. Maybe worth dusting it off again Grin
I would def get busy dtd if I were you just in case you or dh get the bug too as you wouldn't really be in the mood then

BigBoPeep · 16/10/2012 14:20

Think my sneaky plan may have worked Shock my thinking was that if we religiously used contraception and waited until new year, we'd then take 10yrs to conceive....BUT, if we threw caution to the wind, I'd probably take straightaway (too soon). So, we thre caution to the wind and I'm thinking there's no way because DD is a boob monster, still feeds through the night etc and no sign of my periods.

But in the last few days I've been feeling a bit 'whatever' about....everything. Like I just CBA, just want to sit about eating takeaways Grin and this morning I had a slight brush with nausea and a strong craving for...marmite! Last i was pg I got told to take folic acid, but always completely forgot but craved marmite which I then found out is rich in folic acid!

This is quite frankly, terrifying. Esp as my work I was relying on cramming in between babies to tide us over seems to have fallen through so I'm having to do some major belt tightening and creative thinking Confused. We'll survive, but only by scraping through and I'm pretty sick of scraping through. :( still, can't have everything I spose?

jennimoo · 16/10/2012 14:22

bopeep Exciting! Are you going to test?

BigBoPeep · 16/10/2012 15:00

not sure - got 1 test looking at me on the shelf.....

....that's a yes, to stop myself flapping!!
