Is high progesterone on day 21 results an early sign of pregnancy?

Have been ttc a year now, had day 21 bloods, they came back at 68, been reading up and this is really quite high, also read it could be a sign of early pregnancy. Has anyone had an experience of this?

I think I'm clutching at straws but I can't test until next week so I'm curious!!

Hi there

I have had a progesterone level on day 21 of 66. Anything above 33 is deemed enough to get pregnant so I also thought I could be pregnant... I highly suspect I had a chemical pregnancy that cycle but certainly didn't remain pregnant to the point where I could do a test.

However saying that high progesterone levels are a sign of pregnancy and if really high a sign that you might be having a litter! Grin ie twins, triplets etc.

Like every early pregnancy symptom it could mean that you are pregnant but equally that you are not.

Hoping you get a positive outcome! Smile

Don't think too much into it. I did a bit of desperate reading round earlier in the year when I had a high level (100 and something), and it seems that you can say you've ovulated, but not much more. Sorry.

But fingers crossed fr next week!

As has been said, high progesterone only means that you have the right environment to sustain a pregnancy. I've had several blood tests for ovulation show up in the 80s and have not been pregnant yet Sad

HCG is the only hormone that can confirm pregnancy.
