Free folic acid for women at Asda pharmacies

What: Free folic acid tabletsGet by: While stocks last
How: Go to your nearest Asda pharmacy and request your free three-month supply of folic acid. It?s aimed at pregnant women or women trying to conceive.

What do I get? A free three-month supply of folic acid (90 tablets) and copy of Tommy?s ?Having a Healthy Pregnancy? guide.

The usual cost of folic acid tablets ranges, from as little as 0.8p per tablet at Asda to 3.3p per tablet at Boots, so it's worth it if you've an Asda pharmacy nearby, but less so if you've far to travel. However, if you've a maternity exemption certificate then you can get them free from any pharmacy with a prescription from your doctor.

The detail: Only available in Asda stores with a pharmacy. One pack per person, but if you finish your supply and are still trying to conceive / in your first three months of pregnancy, you can return to your Asda pharmacy to obtain more, while stocks last. Available to women of any age, but not to men.

Tesco folic acid is only £1 anyway for either 90 or 120 tablets, can't remember exactly.

Still, if you're in an Asda anyway, it's certainly better than a kick in the teeth.
