New here and without sounding like a dating advert looking for some company. I saw the thread started back in Jan by JumpingJackHash and was wondering if anyone was riding this rollcoaster now. If you fancy smashing away at keyboard hop on be great to hear from you.

Been a long road to get here but currently Downregulating after a false start in March. Doc wanted a few more players for the pitch (i.e eggs) Having treatment due to Male Factor.

Hello - I miss wine too ......... ! I've barely had a drink all year !!

I'll join you ! Am a little bit behind you but due to start IVF this cycle. Start taking the pill on day 1 (oh, the irony !) - which should be about this time next week - with the aim of starting injections on 1 June and egg collection on 20 June.

My medication is due to be deilvered on Friday so spent yesterday morning cleaning the fridge ready for it. All rock and roll ..... !

Our background is that we have been TTC for 3 years. Have conceived naturally twice in that time but both ended in an early miscarriage. An HSG at the beginning of the year suggested that one of my tubes could be blocked - so IVF it is.

Even though we are now days from starting I don't think it's totally sunk in that this is the route we are taking. But so be it .... !

How are you finding downregulating ?

I'll join you ladies, I'm currently on day 10 of downreg, had a scan today, ovaries quietly minding their own business and all looking good. I start stims on Friday, egg collection some time from 22nd to 24th......this is ivf no 1 for me following failed vasectomy reversal.....
I dont miss wine, but am missing fags really badly! I went cold turkey 5th April and am finding it hard to resist with the stress of the Ivf.

Well done on giving up fags ! Actually, it's not the wine I really miss (don't particularly feel like going out at the moment anyway) but coffee ! It was my only real extravagance in life - a 'bought' coffee every morning on my way to work (wild, I know !)

(I have cheated and had a couple of decaff ones !)

So now I keep treating myself to 'posh' make up to compensate ! (There's a bobbi brown colour block on it's way to me as I speak ...) This whole process has made me look quite haggard and so I need to slap it on a bit more !

I havent given up coffee, I'm on one a day in the morning, can't function without that. I will be swapping to tea from collection onwards until I know one way or the other! it's all so alien to me having to give up everything, when I was ttc my other kids I just carried on as normal, except I gave up the fags when I found out I was pregnant.

Firstly I will start with an apology. I start a thread and disappear.... bascially I hit the deck after Tuesday!! Been so ill!!! In bed curtains shut and everything!!

As you know girls. We had a false start back in March so I think where I never had a break my body is full of drugs either that I have actually been abducted by aliens from the planet IVF. Not sure which yet???

Good news though after suffering motion sickness and hubby having to help me into clinic and onto the bed for scan!! Embrassing! Not only are my ovaries minding their own business like yours roger. Mine I think have nodded off. They are probaly bored of waiting to be allowed to do what they want to do... so hopefully ernie and burt (i.e my ovaries!! ) will be happy now that they have been given a double dosage of stimm drugs and I might start to feel better soon... please god!!!

rogersmellyonthetelly= How are you getting on? Are you stimming yet and I know what you mean about the fags. Its how I fell about the wine. Although you think yeah nice to cut back you think bloody hell do I have sacrafice everything aswell go through this. But well done!!! x

missbrightside= Hope those drugs are chilling nicely? and how are you getting? Don't want scare the living daylights out of you with my DR woos. One thing I have learnt is everyone is different and many women breeze through!! I've just been unlucky that I could re-write the book of side effects.

Really sorry to hear you feel ill. Not nice. I will be keeping my fingers crossed that you start to feel better soon !

Ironically I've been feeling healthy and positive and raring to start - until I woke up today feeling really rough too !! Typical !! I slept REALLY badly last night - and AF is imminent - so think it's a combination of that. A bed and closed curtains sounds lovely right now .... ! zzzzzzz !
