Know I ovulated. No bfp or AF

Hi I've been reading through these threads but thought I'd post my own as I'd really appreciate your help!

We are TTC. My periods are usually short ie26 days but actually my last 2 cycles were 29 and 30 days.

So the first day of AF was 10/4
I got a smile on ovulation predictor on 22/4 (day 12)
So I imagine I ovulated 23/4 (day 13)
Now it's 6/5, day 26 of cycle, but 13 days post ovulation.

Have been testing (daily) and bfn. From what I read I should have bfp is pregnant, having known when I ovulated.

I saw this article (www.babymed.com/pregnancy-testing/negative-home-pregnancy-test-hpt-could-i-still-be-pregnant) and it says There is only a slim chance I am pregnant, less than 10%. But also says if I ovulated, if I get to day 15 post ov I must be pregnant?!

Please can someone give me some hope that I may just have long post ovulation?! Has anyone had a positive pregnancy result, having to wait longer than normal after positive ovulation?

The thing is you don't know you ovulated.

OPKs only show a hormonal surge which occurs before ovulation. Often it leads to ovulation but not always.

So you may not have ovulated or may have ovulated later than you think.

I would try not to focus on counting days too much and tracking everything as it could drive you crazy, especially if it doesn't happen straight away

If you had a perfect text book cycle, you would get your period 14 days post ovulation but as ShowOf says, the OPKs just show the hormone surge and not the actual ovulation so it's hard to know exactly when that is

I've just had a cycle when charting where I got to what I calculated as 17 dpo but went to have AF as usual. I agree the OPKs show a surge of LH but you don't necessarily ovulate after that, it's an indicator that you might be about to ovulate. It doesn't mean you haven't ovulated or even that you're not pregnant, but all this isn't an exact science! Even if you did ovulate when you thought, your cycle is somewhat irregular and you are only 13dpo which is fairly early to get a bfp. I think the best thing would be to step away from the pee sticks until the day of your longest cycle I know it's easier said than done! because then you're more likely to get an accurate test result.

I went out and bought a digital test (only been using cheapies from amazon). Tested tonight - positive!! Was negative until yesterday (but could be tests). And now positive. In shock!!!

Well done! This thread has given me some hope! My AF is a day or two late and the internet cheapie this morning was BFN, but as I think I'm only 12/13 dpo, I'm keeping my hopes slightly raised!

Yes thanks he's loads better. Didn't realise how much things were affecting him til he started treatment! Waiting for a repeat SA to see how things are but we should be in normal ranges now!

Awesome news TTCMay, you must be delighted! I too am now living in hope. 15dpo and no period, last negative test was 14dpo but today I had a temp spike after a normal night's sleep and usual waking time. I'll see what temp does in the morning before testing as I'd rather see my period than another BFN. I didn't test until about 15-17dpo with last 2 pregnancies and only got incredibly faint positives then so I'm not entirely worried about negatives at this stage.

Until my hand is forced bring on the wine, unpasteurised cheese and cured meats aplenty!

Typical - cracked open the FRER and peed on it before I noticed the red tide of doom had arrived. Having lunchtime wine to take the edge off my obvious disappointment. Onwards and upwards.
