you will be fine with a smaller age gap. My ds is 2.4 and dd is 8wks and its fab!! I want a 3rd but dh doesnt

CaptainDippy · 14/02/2006 13:44

Why the hell not!!? I've got 14 months between mine and it is good fun - I rather enjoy it (has it's moments) A small age gap is thoroughly recommended by me!! Go for it alliep30!! (Am still praying!! )

I have spent the last two years trying to decide, although for a diffrent reason. My first little girl is fine, she is 9 in March, my second little girl(6) has Severe Learning diff and Hypotonia..they said that she probably wouldnt walk, talk etc etc as her MRI scan is severe. So thinking of having a third was not even in question back then ,as we always said we would like 3 children.

Anyway she has progressed really well, started walking a year ago and she talks and signs.

I know I def want a third its taken time but whatever happens i just want another one. My risk is low and everyone is telling me to go for it!

Anyway my point being ...go with your gut feeling/instinct ,as if you want to look for hurdles I'm sure you will find them..its your decsion not your mums..I asked myself would I regret it in the future if I didnt try and the answer is yes!

you go for it!!

I'm currently expecting no 3 (due any day now) after dithering for ages. I have two girls (5&6) with a 15 month age gap, and loved having them close together.
When I mentioned trying for a third to my mum, she just said, better to go for it than spend years regretting not trying. I think she was right - I did spend a couple of years trying to talk myself out of it, but would have always had regrets.

Ask me again if it was a good idea in a month or so

expatinscotland · 14/02/2006 18:14

i have two 2.5 years apart. wish i'd been able to wait longer, but i feel myself that i'm getting too old energy wise.

1.5 years? personally, NO WAY. but hey, if you want to, then more power to ya!

alliep30 · 14/02/2006 19:05

well, i'm 29 and feel there's a little life in the old dog yet.. I just feel more ready for this now.. don't want dd to be lonely like ds was too.. but could i cope?? don't know
