UTI while TTC- help!

I am currently 1 DPO and have developed a lovely UTI. I have a docs appointment this afternoon but I'm really worried about antibiotics doing damage if I do conceive. I have just had a miscarriage too so am extra worried. Does anyone have any experience of this?
TIA

As long as you're early on in your cycle, they should be ok. Trimethoprim isn't meant to be taken in pregnancy but that's only tww onwards. I've had too many! and they'll happily give trimethoprim in the early days of your cycle, just tell them you're ttc when you go. I'd strongly advise you avoid dtd til it's cleared up! That's based on personal experience! Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry - I am in 2ww (1DPO). Does this mean no trimethoprim then? Oh dear...

I was prescribed a strong antibiotic for a uti whilst ttc and conceived the following month. Not suggesting a link so much as proving no harm! Hope it happens for you soon.

Just tell them you're ttc and in tww. I've recently had three courses of antibiotics. They gave me cefarexime rather than trimethoprim to be safe.

Thanks for the reassurance HaveALittleFaithBaby and tiddleypompom. Just had my appointment with nurse practitioner. She prescribed cefelexin which she said was "safer". Off to google it now...

That one worked for me eventually!
