How soon did you ov after last clomid pill?

Apparently the clearblue monitor is no use if on clomid (or for pcosers at all really) so am really curious if and when i might ov!

My last pill is tonight and from what I've gathered it is usually from 5 days after the last pill but I guess as with all these things it can vary. Still, I'd like to hear what your experiences were so we can all compare!

P.S. Did anyone not ov at all? I'm really scared about that happening to me since my ov is so sporadic normally.

OK, I think we're going to have to SWI every day for a couple of weeks just to make sure :)

So it is possible not to ov at all, well yes not surprising I suppose - although what I've mainly heard about with regard to clomid failure is people oving but not getting pg. So hopefully at least I will ov, that will be a start!

Thank you for the good luck! :)

My last pill (of my first go) is on Saturday, so I am really interested in this too!

Maghribia · 03/05/2012 11:18

Oh fab, someone else in the same position! Are you a PCOSer Northey? How are you feeling on the clomid so far? I kept hearing horror stories about moodiness and hot flushes but it's actually put me in a better mood than I have been for ages (that might be because I'm excited about the possibility of a BFP though, which actually seems possible with this whereas I was never completely convinced about the metformin)

Sorry to say I didn't ov after my first month, despite getting +ve results on ov sticks twice during my cycle
I'm waiting to see if double dose has worked this cycle

I don't have POCS, just don't seem to be ovulating

Maghribia · 03/05/2012 11:23

I'm on double dose Caiprinhas, in Morocco it's common to start with 100mg

This non ovulating thing drives you nuts doesn't it. Are you having periods but not ovulating or just few/ no periods at all?

Get periods fine just don't seem to be ovulating and not sure if that's always been the case or not

Northey · 03/05/2012 11:29

A friend!

Yes, I'm a PCOSer too, and am taking 1500mg of Metformin as well as 50mg Clomid.

So far my body temperature is all over the place at night, but generally in just quite excited about trying a new thing.

Maghribia · 03/05/2012 11:30

You know, it was only recently I found out that you can have periods without ov - I always thought that the 4 periods I have a year (!) = 4 ov's!

Northey · 03/05/2012 11:31

I'm a non-bleeder. Or rather, I used to have only 2-3 periods per year. Metformin made me menstruate more frequently, but my body seemed to resist it after a while, so Clomid has now been added.

Maghribia · 03/05/2012 11:36

Northey my new PCOS buddy - I am sticking with the Metformin but I don't have a lot of faith in it. I think a lot of people are put on it to lose weight before clomid. I did lose weight (went from 68kg to 62) but that's about it. Did you have to take progesterone to bring on your period before you started the clomid? It feels really strange having a period for a change doesn't it!

Northey · 03/05/2012 11:47

I lost weight while taking metformin, but I don't think the metformin was responsible - I was dieting and exercising as hard as I usually have to in order to lose weight :(

I had progesterone ready to take, but my period randomly appeared, so I was able to take Clomid "naturally."

I really hope this works. How long have you been at it?

Maghribia · 03/05/2012 11:51

4 bloody years!

Really, really hope this is our month. Our due dates would be almost identical wouldn't they?

I'm just so relieved to be finally on the clomid. Before it all felt impossible, I went from hoping things would just happen eventually to not being able to imagine ever being pregnant. But having heard so many success stories with clomid, I am feeling a lot more optimistic!

Oh, I didn't realise that the CBFM wouldn't work on a Clomid cycle. I was a bit bemused why i didn't get a peak!

I used Clmoid from CD4 - CD8 and Futility Fiend seems to think I ovulated on CD14.

Northey · 03/05/2012 11:56

I've been officially trying for nearly three years (as in, that's when I first realised my wonky periods were a potential problem and went to the GP). But I had been having unprotected sex for about four years before that (not ttc particularly, just lazy and unfussed).

Are you having any tracking scans? I'm having a baseline scan today, and a tracking scan next week on CD10.

Aworryingtrend · 03/05/2012 16:23

Mine was late- around CD 20 or 21. It did the job and am now 16 weeks pregnant. That was my 3rd cycle of Clomid though so don't give up hope if the first one doesnt work.

Aworryingtrend · 03/05/2012 16:24

To answer your other questions- yes, for the first 2 cycles of Clomid my progesterone increased from a measly 2.1 to a sad 5.9 so didn't ovulate at all until the 3rd cycle when I got pregnant- then it was over 40.
