Hi Euro
I recognise you from the ttc 10 months + thread, where I am a long term stalker.
I can't recommend anyone for you as I live in the North. However I have been having reflexology for over a year and would advise anyone in our shoes to do the same.
I have been ttc for 2 tears and had a miscarriage after 1st month of ttc - nothing since. Like all of us, I find TTC stressful and overwhelming. I went to refelxology after a year to see if it could help. To be honest it hasn't directly helped so far BUT this is because I now know I have a significant tubal problem - this was found at HSG in Januray 2012. It is called hydrosalpinx - I was devestated to find this out.
Back to refelxology - I find it to be a holistic and whole experience which helps me value myself in spite of TTC whilst focusing on TTC if that makes sense. It has also enabled me to fully come to terms with my miscarriage. My reflexologist has given me loads of practical ideas and has given us lots of emotional support when we have been going through tests - this has been invaluable as Dr's can be so cold and clinical and it is possible to be left feeling worse than ever.
I am now half way though my first cycle of IVF. Just finished my downregging stage (womb linning minimal and ovaries asleep). From Friday I will begin the stimming phase. I am trying to stay positive as this is realistcly the best chance we have of conceiving a baby. However having a hydrosalpinx does reduce our chances due to toxins which can be released and destroy embryos.
My reflexologist is seeing me weekly now. This week she will focus on develoing the womb lining and stimulating the hormones to compliment the new drugs and next phase of the IVF cycle. She strongly feels that 'fertile soil' is essential - she thinks IVF is great but the drugs alone are not always enough. She claims to have a good recod with women she has worked with who have gone through IVF. There are some research articles to back this up. She also advocates no work and lots of rests during thw 2ww post IVF.
Do give reflexology a try - it may make you feel so much better and improve your outlook - which in itself is a success. And yes, I also believe it can help people to conceive where there are no significant fertility issues.
I have seen some of your posts on the TTC + forum so do have a vague idea of what your story is (sorry hope that doesn't sound too stalkerish). I really wish I'd joined you guys earlier but feel like I have left it too long now. I have posted here and there.
I use to see IVF as a big bad thing. I had physical and moral concerns about doing it. Now I am on my first cycle and my mindset has completely changed.
Wow - sorry for crazy long post - please feel free to PM / ignore me.
Take Care Sarlat x
