Thought I would take the plunge and start the June thread! I won't be getting my May BFP as my cycles are sooooooo long. Who's. With me?

dreamydays · 22/05/2012 20:01

So I saw my French gyn today and she was v positive. Did exam and scan, is sending me off for bloods and dh off for tests too.

The only point of divergence from UK advice was that she insisted that in the run up to ov you should dtd every day, not EOD. Feeling confused on this as a result!

KFFOREVER · 22/05/2012 20:37

Can I join too? I will be testing every day in june not. lol. My body is wierd at the moment and have no idea on when I should be testing so I am going with the flow so to speak.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 22/05/2012 20:52

pinkie so glad there is another poas obsessive on the thread. Wish I could be as chilled out as everyone else but am just not built that way. Maybe I will be calmer in the 2ww. Hmm

Congrats on the positive opk huge improvement for you.

A friend of mine uses vitex for her pcos. She is not ttc she just uses it to regulate her hormones and reduce her pcos symptoms, she now has regular cycles and is feeling much better.

Pinkie29 · 22/05/2012 21:35

I'm still very surprised I've ovd so early, last month I gave up poas around cd24 then cd28 I thought I was coming on and saw the surge i just assumed I'd missed it and af was enroute!

We're going to dtd tonight so fx I'm not an emo wreck haha! On the plus side if we don't get our bfp this month we have a better idea of when I ov now so can make the most of it, not a bad end to a shit 24hrs Smile

FloweryBoots · 22/05/2012 21:48

I shouldn't moan when this is only cycle one and I shouldn't expect too much too soon, and so many of you seem to have PCOS to complicate matters and make things harder, but I thoguht I'd double check what my usual cycle length was and discovered they are FAR more irregular than I had convinced my self and range from 29 - 38 days. Cue obsesive googling and resulting terrror! I think I should be banned from the internet when TTC, it doesn't do me any good!

Think I might have to accept I need to bite the bullet and knock DS's last feed on the head as I can only assume the breast feeding is what is causing the irregularity. But of course sensibly, I can of course wait and see what June brings, you never know! And actually DS dropped his morning feed a month or two ago, and his bed time feed has reduced in duration over the last few weeks too, so if I especially want to continue feeding it's not unreasonable to wait and see how the next few cycles go first to see if they get a bit more regular. But like us all, I want to be preggers, and I want it NOW! TTC requires patience, and I don't have it!

winkle2 · 22/05/2012 23:19

Welcome kfforever!

Dtd again this eve. Currently doing the reverse winkle!

Swim swim swim!!

toobreathless · 23/05/2012 00:33

Well the science of the last few pages has blown my mind :) not going to admit what I do for a living bit have realised I know embarrassingly little about most matters related to Conception.

whenshewas thank you for your kind words. Ectopic was almost exactly 2 years ago at 4-6 weeks I guess. Never really worked it out as it was unplanned & I didnt know I was pregnant. Thankfully DD arrived 11 months later & is now 13 months old. I don't worry too much about another pregnancy loss, I know we could cope with this, but worry about losing my remaining tube & infertility.

On a perkier note, CD 26 today (weds) no pregnancy tests in the house but I caved and used an OPK strip I have left (bought five to play with). Didn't follow the instructions and did it in all the wrong circumstances but think it might have been positive. We shall see. Might do the other tomorrow then POAS properly on Thursday/Friday.

Anybody else testing this week? Come join me Grin

QueenOfTheRodeo · 23/05/2012 00:47

thanks for the advice wilde Smile

pinkie thats great to hear your cycles are improving - I predict a BFP for you very soon Smile

Got my last late shift at work tomorrow then will finally be able to join you all in dtd eod from then until end of cycle!

Pinkie29 · 23/05/2012 07:33

Lol thanks queen now if you could just predict Fridays lotto numbers I'll be forever grateful Grin

Even dp asked 'is it not far too early for ovulation?' the countdown begins! A sneaky part of me wants to test and if I get a bfp tell him on fathers day?? Is that bad?

LittleMissSnowShine · 23/05/2012 07:38

Swim!!

Also dtd last night, winkled briefly for a couple of mins and then had to nip downstairs cos I was speed dryingsome washing on radiators and i'd forgotten.ro take it off

Going to hav a go at using that Conceive Plus 2moro and see what happens Wink

CD12 here but with my long cycles OV is prob still a week away and despite lengthy AF the pukefest managed to dtd twice so far and DH is taking his wellman conception so feeling pretty positive here too!

Pinkie29 · 23/05/2012 08:33

We used conceive plus and popped an instead cup in afterwards Smile

Just said to dp I'm not overly fussed (really?!) if we get it this time as was taking the vitex to make me more regular, it's either worked or coincidence! Tho we seem to have had optimum conditions with a positive ov test and ewcm just not sure if we caught it quick enough

Pinkie29 · 23/05/2012 08:34

swim swim swim swim Grin

KickingUpQuestions · 23/05/2012 08:56

Let me know if the Conceive Plus works. I did a bunch of research on it and I'm not convinced so would love to hear from other people :)

We DTD too - after a 2hr 30min cycle! I know its meant to be bad for the swimmers but it was good anyway and it's out first official EOD month!

mrsmellow · 23/05/2012 09:06

Hello ladies - lots of interesting science!
AF arrived last night Sad so I'm out - not sure if I'll get to test again before the end of June - this cycle was a short 36 days, but am usually 45 so might sneak in a test on the 30th.... good luck to you all! Smile

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 23/05/2012 09:08

pinkie I was going to do the same re telling him on fathers day. Don't think it is going to be an issue. I am on cd18 and still no positive opk.

Am wondering if getting v drunk on Sat night could have given me a false negative. Wishing we hadn't gone out now but we just felt we needed a fun night out together.

KickingUpQuestions · 23/05/2012 09:13

whenshewas

Having fun out with your DH won't give you a false positive. It won't affect your chance to conceive or your ovulation.

You need to be able to go out and do the things that you enjoy as a couple. So that you can enjoy the shit times together too. Don't be so hard on yourself. I know we put ourselves under so much pressure but if we can't have a smidgeon of alcohol or coffee or coca cola or crisps or fatty food, or cycling or swimming or steam rooms for the rest of our LIVES until we know we're expecting - our relationships would dwindle and that makes it not worth it for me.

DH and I bought mountain bikes yesterday and went cycling around the city for 2.30hrs. We both love our sports and we're just trying to fit the sports into busy lives and decided to do this. We spent a lot of time together, chilling and relaxing during our ride. Then came home and DTD but knew that they cycling also squashes his swimmers.

Don't care. Won't stop him cycling or stop us cycling on account of TTC. Our happiness and time together as a couple is just as important.

Pinkie29 · 23/05/2012 09:15

When do you usually ov whenshewasbad? I didn't get a positive opk till cd 28 last month!

Kicking - research?? Do tell Smile it seems to be hit and miss when I've searched for results but use it as I seem to have very little ewcm may of the time

KickingUpQuestions · 23/05/2012 09:18

The bottom line with Preseed and Conceive Plus is that they are lubricants.

They were both designed to help you if you are particularly dry (for e.g. as a result of Clomid).

I read both of their websites and they don't actually sell the idea that they help sperm along. They sell the idea that they enhance the CM for DTD. That's pretty much the extent of their scientific claims.

Everything else about helping the sperm and protecting it etc etc is what your CM does. So basically, if you have normal CM - the lubricants mimic that so you shouldn't technically need it if you aren't dry.

So we decided that we don't need it because there is nothing wrong with my CM

KickingUpQuestions · 23/05/2012 09:25

And therefore the lubricants are perfect for you Pinkie.

I've heard a lot of people claim that they help the sperm and they do fabulous things for everyone all the time but those are just embellished stories or "luck of the draw"

The bottom line is that it's a sperm friendly lubricant. That was why I decided not to use it because most lubricants aren't sperm friendly. So unless you need help with CM, don't use it

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 23/05/2012 09:30

Thanks for quick response pinkie and kicking. I think I meant a false negative. I drank a ton of water (trying to reduce hangover). Was wondering if all the water could have diluted the lh in my urine clutching at straws

I used to be very regular, ov on cd16 or cd17 and af would arrive cd30/31. Have only had one period since I stopped bf dd (and I had a short luteal phase with that period) so I don't think my hormones have settled down yet.

I know my body will settle down in time, I am just impatient and have slightly control freak tendencies.

winkle2 · 23/05/2012 09:32

I used conceive plus last cycle. Didn't get preg :(

wilderumpus · 23/05/2012 09:35

Grin swim my pretties! Grin

Agree with kicking (again!) Pressed etc not to help you concieve or act as EWCM but just to help if you are dry from medication or BF or whatever. your own natural lubricant is the best in the world, is free, and if you use lube you don't need as well you might have TOO MUCH. uh oh.

SOOO I had a BFN this morning hurray :) BUT I had brown cm last night (just once and clear since) which has resulted in headfuckage! i never get brown blood. I need your wisdom ladies. Is this possibly a) implantation bleeding (at 9dpo? and i haven't had it before?); b) a sign I am going to pass more old stuff from my mc; c) impending AF spotting (i don't spot but this is WTF month for me after my mc) Am due sunday/Monday; d) nothing and am massively overreacting Wink

I feel paranoid am going to start bleeding at any time and am knicker checking all the time. is like when I was waiting to mc again! Am sure i will be ok when I have walked to the childminders and back and not started bleeding all over my village and am in fact, completely normal :) Just a bit of confusion and ignorance pour moi.

apologies for me, me, me. Am all of a dither and cannot talk to DH about brown cervical mucus. heck no.
