Thought I would take the plunge and start the June thread! I won't be getting my May BFP as my cycles are sooooooo long. Who's. With me?

Ted - oh god I can't do it every day either. We both have full time jobs and my husband is doing a phd which means sometimes he studies till late. We can't have 'early nights' every night! Poor hubby, last night he got in late after a two hour Kung fu class, then had to do some work at home till about 10 - he was knackered but he still dtd!!

RIBS · 17/05/2012 13:55

Wow hes a superWinkle!! Grin

morecoffeemorecoffee · 17/05/2012 13:56

Oooo, teacakes! Yum!

I'm ditching Ov sticks not actually taken them out the pack yet

Had good intentions to temp this cycle but could never remember to do it

This cycle, the plan is dtd whenever we can. Ted, I'm sure eod is fine and seems to work for lots of couples.

Really not sure how this cycle is going. Think I will be moving over to the July thread in a week or so time as I can't see us getting our bfp in June. Not sure if I'm still going to test on 3rd June. Might give it an extra week it so due to spotting last week. Tbh, I'm actually fed up of ttc.

Agree with ribs about super winkle!

OP posts:
wilderumpus · 17/05/2012 14:09

wow yes wuperwinkle! Dedicated to the cause, that's what we like to see :)

I echo the other ladies ted - dtd 2/3 times a week and you'll have it covered - also it is better to have less but GOOD sex, because if your man is really into it he can produce 50% more swimmers :) And anyway, you want to make a baby from happy circs don't you, ideally. I would say tho that thinking about, planning and executing ttc can be tiring.

RIBS am a terrible poas addict. I LOVE peeing on sticks. jeez, if only I didn't work from home!

wilderumpus · 17/05/2012 14:09

wuperwinkle! hehe! super.

chuh.

RIBS · 17/05/2012 14:16

This is the month of ditching the equipment and just doing some good old fashioned hard core babydancing and winkling.

morecoffee Dont be too hasty, you never know!! Theres a month and a half to go before you can jump ship. Have you managed to get a gynae appt yet? Dont let it get you down. It will happen. You just need to ovulate and know when that is going to be.

tedmundo · 17/05/2012 14:35

thanks ladies EOD it is then....

Morecoffee .. Echo Ribs. We are only halfway through may. Don't give up on June just yet.

I am loving that we are all just going for the EOD attitude this month. I am happy that I have regular cycles and anyway, like you all point out, DTD EOD makes sure you are covered anyway. So no ov sticks for me either.

I never really could do it properly anyway as holding in wee for 4 hrs was never ever going to happen. I have had 2 kids for goodness sake.

@wilderumpus .. Wuper cracked me up. Ta for the cheap laugh!

@winkle .. Your DH is very dedicated to the cause and may need to give a master class to my moaning DH at some point. Along the lines of "suck it up and get on with it!"

morecoffeemorecoffee · 17/05/2012 14:42

Thanks ribs yes got my appt, its in about 4weeks, I posted earlier in this thread asking what I should expect from the appt as its for both Dh and I. No one responded :( . I wondered what they will do... will they tell me to loose weight and come back when I weigh x as I'm overweight, will they want a sperm sample from Dh?. I can't see how I will get June bfp, only dtd twice this cycle. Cd21 today I think. No idea when I will Ov this cycle or if I already have. No idea when to expect AF.

God, someone slap me for being so bloody miserable! I have now got a grip and will try to refrain from such woe is me posts again!

OP posts:
redstrawberry · 17/05/2012 14:53

hi morecoffee i haven't been through the GP experiences - yet - so not sure what to say. I can only say don't give up hope, and its okay if you dtd twice... you only need that 1 super sperm to meet the egg. I hope this is the month for you.

We've found it hard to dtd eod, we tried it one week but gave up pretty quickly! I think its insanely hard. besides mine's away for few days a week.

I am feeling a little less hopeful too - dont know if its the weather or wht?! But I haven't checked for any symptoms in the last 8 hours. I think I feel better when I am not obsessing as then I am not building up hopes and dreams about what "might" happen.

RIBS · 17/05/2012 14:53

Sorry morecoffee I never saw it, I must of missed it. They'l want to test his swimmers too as obv it takes 2 to conceive. I think they'l send you fore tests first. Make sure theres no blockages in your tubes any cysts etc. DO you have/think you have pcos. I think if they come back ok or if theres pcos they'l give you clomid to start and maybe some metaformin which helps to lose weight if you've got pcos. (so ive read!)

I think its only if you get further down the line if ivf is the only way forward they want you to lose weight. You probably arent as overweight as you think morecoffee. Your last cycle was bloody ages too, you could be ovulating in the next few days or weeks. Have you spotted any ewcm?

Give hosp a ring, tell them you'll take a cancellation - you never know!!

tedmundo · 17/05/2012 14:59

Sorry I missed your query morecoffee. I have not had any fertility checks but I think they may take bloods from you, and sperm sample from DH. I know nothing about pcos but wish you luck. Trying to get a cancellation sounds like a plan.

RIBS · 17/05/2012 15:02

Your gp should have taken some bloods to check your hormone levels so that the gynae can see them straight away to see where your at. Prepare to be prodded and poked my love.

But your on your way morecoffee Your not being left on your own, the gynae will sort and reassure you that you WILL get up the duff. And we'r all here for the moral support. Oh n your dh too I suppose!!

morecoffeemorecoffee · 17/05/2012 15:19

Pcos was hinted at in the past (10yrs ago when I was referred due to problems with my periods. This was in a different part of the country to where I live now) it was never diagnosed though.

Since ttc this time, my gp has been very thorough. I have had bloods taken to test thyroid, iron levels etc. Also hormone levels. I had an ultrasound scan (internal), had swabs taken and examined! You name it! And everything came back 'normal'!
Dh is wondering will he have to give a sample at this appt?!
Can't really request an earlier appt as we are away on hols soon, so timing of appt is actually good.

Regarding pcos. Are they likely to diagnose it even if hormone levels seem fine and no sign of cysts on scan? I have all the other symptoms, or could this be symptoms of something else?- periods really long (sometimes 2weeks), cycles really long (sometimes 60 days) weight gain and hard to loose weight (however when on the pill, I find if I've had any weight to loose it comes off easily and I can stay the same weight), really spotty skin (even though I'm 32 ffs!), and I do get a little bit of hair on top lip Blush

OP posts:
winkle2 · 17/05/2012 15:20

I hope my superwinkle has super sperm!!

morecoffeemorecoffee · 17/05/2012 15:21

Thanks for your thoughts/advice! :)

OP posts:
RIBS · 17/05/2012 15:29

I had this years ago. No signs of anything then had another scan and cysts appeared.

Even if everything comes back "normal". Demand some clomid, it will make you ovulate. You dont need pcos to get it. They usually like morning "samples" so Mr Morecoffee shouldnt have to disappear off with a copy of Razzle at the appointment!! Grin Bet he's gutted!

BTW, im 37 and have spots like a 13 yr old. Its a pain. I spend a fortune on facials, erm waxing etc. God I sound shocking. Im not as bad as I sound!

morecoffeemorecoffee · 17/05/2012 15:44

Thanks ribs just laughed out load at Mr morecoffee disappearing with a copy of razzle!

Just re read my last post, and Blimey, I sound dead attractive! A fat spotty 30 something with a tash! Wink

Pinkie29 · 17/05/2012 18:04

RIBS re teenage skin, totally feel your pain! I suffered for a long time and tried everything on the planet even creams from the doc.

Touch wood things have pretty much cleared up thanks to (I think) Pure Bentonite Clay face masks. You buy it off eBay about £10 for a kilo it lasts forever and you literally feel it sucking the dirt out of your skin, I also use the Bodyshop vitamin E range and religiously cleanse tone and moisturise every night, I think having a good skin care routine has helped as my skin was very red dry flaky and uneven a few months ago (sexy!) even people at work have commented how grat my skins looking Smile

LittleMissSnowShine · 17/05/2012 18:56

Morecoffee/RIBS - also got pcos but my.skin is usually grand...except when I was pg!! It was awful!! Forget that radiant pg glow...nowhere in sight for me lol

Men who have been in the house seeing to my plumbing (ooh err) hav headed home. Dtd commencing tonight...

bean612 · 17/05/2012 20:19

Ooh, can I join? TTC no.2 (DD is nearly 3.6 so time is of the essence!). I'm not new to MN but very new to these threads - don't understand half the terminology so please be patient! When I was TTC DD1 I didn't have a clue, was just stumbling round in the dark really (sometimes literally Grin), but this time am all too aware of cycles (mine seem to be about 6 weeks, but only been off the pill for 3 months), ovulation dates etc. Plus I have PCOS and am the wrong side of 35 (well, 36) so...

dreamydays · 17/05/2012 20:40

Morecoffee, lots of sympathy, hang in there! Sorry for you feeling fed up - I also have days like that but keep reminding myself that feeling positive mentally might actually help my body reach positive results.

I have my first gynae appointment on Tues, like you I don't know what to expect. Going for medical help felt like an admission of failure at first but now I'm telling myself I'm not failing, just being practical.

Bean - I'm new too but welcome! I have the same time issue as DD is 3.3 and all, but all, my maternity friends now have DC2 with them or on the way. Trying not to feel I've missed the boat!

bean612 · 17/05/2012 20:43

Hi dreamy! No, we haven't missed the boat at all. I'm focusing on the good stuff like only one set of childcare fees at a time, bonding time with no.2 while no.1 is at school, that kind of thing.

tedmundo · 17/05/2012 20:57

@bean and @dreamy .. Def not missed the boat. I have v small gap between dc1 and dc2 and, hopefully, will have a 4 yr gap this time. I am really looking forward to the older ones understanding about the sibling. Dc1 oblivious to the last arrival. Made us a bit sad. There are def positives to having a bigger gap.
