When is 'a line' really 'A LINE'?

I'm 2 days before AF is due and thought I'd do an Internet cheapie this morning just to see as feeling decidedly unpregnant.

There was the faintest of lines there which I stood and stared at and re-stared at several times whilst making my breakfast etc.

I had some stabbing like pains in my abdomen yesterday and have a kind of all over dull ache across my abdomen and lower back today (feels a bit like period pains for me but nothing of that nature, yet.)

So the question is... Is any line that comes up, no matter how faint, A LINE???!!!

Yes. A line is a line is a line. Congratulations Smile

Not wishing to be negative, but it is possible it could turn out to be a chemical pg - where the egg fertilises but doesn't implant properly so you get AF anyway.

However if you are getting a +ve on an internet cheapy 2 days before AF, that sounds like a good strong result. Fingers crossed for you!

Thanks minipie

Don't worry about sounding negative - I know it's a possibility. Also had a mc in January so I'm taking every cycle as it comes. It's just so flipping frustrating!!

I'm going to do a test a morning in the hope that it gets darker - it was the faintest of faintest of faintest of lines!!!!

Congratulations! I'm exactly the same had a v faint positive this morning. AF due 2mrw. I've also had previous mc so fingers crossed they both stick!

Paddingtonblue · 03/05/2012 07:34

Congratulations! I didn't believe a very faint line counted but the evidence is right in front of me covered in food and looking very proud of her ten month old self.

kalidasa · 03/05/2012 07:40

Congratulations! The internet cheapy sticks are v. sensitive - more than almost all the ones you can buy on the high street. I had two chemical pregnancies that they detected; with the successful (so far) pregnancy the sticks got darker every couple of days. Good luck!

I think I definitely am so thank you all for your advice!! Put me at ease a little. They've been getting darker every day so I'm starting to actually believe it now! Grin I have promised my hubby though that I'll wait til the weekend to do another and was going to use a more expensive one just to be sure!!

Just need to think 'sticky thoughts' from now on...

I had an almost invisible line on my IC tests yesterday and then this morning.

I went to get a FRER and ended up with a crappy Sainsburys own one, which I didn't think would show anything. Apparently it's 25miu (ICs are 10)

anyway I dipped it in the same, erm, well you know, when I got home and it was a huge positive.

So I think you should try a sainsburys test Grin They're called Earlybird. Cheap as well.

Good luck!

I did an IC again when I came in from work today and it was positive too although still quite faint. Still, thought that was quite good for it not being fmu...

Got two Clear Blue in the cupboard but going to try my best not to do one until Saturday morning. Not really got any symptoms so it's still hard to take in, especially when we've been trying since last March and only have an mc to show for it.

I really want to shout BFP (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) to everyone I know but I'm holding back so much.... I'll just keep doing a wee dance in my head.Smile

I had one of those ic "is it a line or my imagination" situations last Tuesday, also 2 days before AF. A faint BFP on a FR the same day, and a very strong BFP on a FR on Saturday. So, a line is a line but having had a mc that's all it is for now, not going to think about an actual baby just yet.
