I have been reading up on how it supposed to be really good for improving cm. lots of success stores online, I wondered if anyone on mumsnet had any success stories?!

Watching with interest! I've taken a whole bottle of the stuff this month with zero effect this month but would be good to hear of any other stories.

I have just started taking it-thought it couldn't do any harm. I have a friend who was ttc for 5 years, did this one month and got pregnant-obviously could just be fluke but who knows, she swears by it. Then I looked it up and seems to be lots of people saying that it thinned there cm which made it easier for sperm to travel! Let me know how you get on!!! :) x

I had it when i was TTC my younger two, I had only been trying for a couple of months both times so I don't know if thats what worked.

Try Evening Primrose Oil too - for first half of month only. This has definitely increased my fertile CM. Lucky me. Smile

clickingtock · 29/04/2012 19:47

Sorry - first half of cycle, so that could be 12 days or 20 depending on when you ovulate (roughly). Don't take it after ovulation as it could interfere with implantation.

DaisyMaisyJessicaEmily · 29/04/2012 19:50

Yes it worked as in increased the CM, didn't work as in getting an end result.

I also heard drinking grapefruit juice can help increase CM.

DaisyMaisyJessicaEmily · 29/04/2012 19:51

I just used an own brand Asda or whatever though, as long as it is chesty/expectorant type it doesn't need to be Robitussin specifically.

Boots actually I think it was (sorry was about 7 yrs ago now!)

Happilymarried155 · 29/04/2012 20:12

Interesting! Well I have started it so we will see if it works!! I have my fingers crossed! Thanks for your replies x

I think I'm going to try this too next cycle! If I'm not pregnant now (testing this time next week :-S) My CM is a bit variable, and I don't see what harm it can do. Thanks clickingtock for the tips re implantation.

Worth a try. I have also used sperm-friendly lubricant which you prob have heard of - preseed. V good and friendly to the wrigglers.

oikopolis · 02/05/2012 17:23

used it in combination with OPKs. as soon as i got a +ve OPK, took pure pharmacy own-brand guaifenesin (don't get a cough mixture that has anything else in it - the other ingredients can prevent pregnancy) three times a day for five days, with a shag each day Wink

we were pg immediately - first month trying.

Happilymarried155 · 02/05/2012 17:31

I really hope it works for us, about to go for blood tests next week so a BFP would be ideal, plus two more friends have announced pregnancies this week. Think I know someone giving every month until dec now-I just want my turn :-( x
