Nice comfort ideas for getting through chemical pg / v. v. early mc?

Assuming a few of you ladies have been through this and are back into TTC (hence posting here and not in pg loss)

Any good tips for self-indulging / cheering yourself up a bit during the miserable heavy sore bleeding bit?

It's just around the corner for me - faint +ve since 10DPO, now at 12DPO bright red beginning-of-period type spotting and test line isn't getting darker.
Total accident but still feel blue about it not sticking. :(

Already sent DH for sanitary pads and ibuprofen but looking for more indulgent self-comfort ideas so I have something 'to look forward to' during the crap bit, if that doesn't sound too ridiculous, wondering what made you feel (a teensy bit) better?

The fact that you CAN get pregnant. Hold onto that. Happened to me and pregnancy 'held' the next month. Good luck.
Chocs/ wine/ hotwater bottles/ crappy film...

SunflowersSmile · 28/04/2012 11:27

Wine in big bubble bath tonight plus a rubbish paper back...

2ndDestiny · 28/04/2012 11:53

Thanks Sunflowers. Yes that's important, glad to hear your next pg after a chemical was a sticky one. I do have a scrumptious DS but have mc'd before him. Think I'm just one of those women who's prone to mc. I have PCOS. Was on metformin with DS, which may, or may not, have made a difference. Not keen to go back on it.

Crappy films are definitely on the agenda. And definitely my turn to choose (DH wants to watch rise of the Planet of the Apes but I think I might veto that!?)

Bubble bath sounds nice too. Have asked DH for Baileys and comfort food (let's see how he interprets that) but not sure if I'll enjoy it as I still feel a bit sick. I guess that will pass when the bleeding kicks in properly.

Wine, bubble bath, chocolate and snuggling under a blanket in pjs with dh did wonders for me :)
I had to take cocodamol at one point as I found it more painful than I was expecting. I have heavy, painful periods anyway but this was quite a bit worse.

2ndDestiny · 28/04/2012 12:08

Thanks Dilly - it is certainly the right weather for blankets and snuggling here. I'm expecting it to be heavy and sore as I had a hideous excruciating period between the MC and DS which I think must have been a CP. Don't think I can take cocodamol as still BF but DS is 18mo so a couple of glasses of vino should be ok :)

Sorry to hear that.

I had quite a few of these chemical pregnancies when ttc DC2 and eventually I did get a sticky one, but even that looked ominous at first as I had light bleeding around CD 28 which then passed.

Anyway, there's lots of good advice on here already which all sounds wonderful. Good luck for next time.

melons sorry to hear you had several of these, but reassuring to know you got a sticky in the end. We were not even ttc but after all the trouble we had conceiving DS I was not complaining about the BFP. I guess we'll start again soon as there might be more of these CPs on the cards. I hate them but I did find my MC at 10wks much worse.

Oh well booze and chocolate and trashy movie tonight then I guess we should do something nice (in the rain?) with DS tomorrow and remember how lucky we are to have him.

Currently pg (10+wks) following a chem pg in Feb so 1) eat brie, drink wine & generally make the most of not being pg and 2) take heart that you can get pg & it might even happen in a couple of weeks, as it did for me!!! Grin

It sucks at the time but it does get better.

Chunkychicken · 28/04/2012 15:52

Oh and try not to test early - I actually only turned out to be 1 day late with my 'AF' that time, but I'd already known for nearly a week :( This time I left it until I was nearly due but the symptoms were so bad I wanted to test just to rule out a virus iyswim. It won't stop it happening, but it will maybe stop you getting your hopes up so much.

morecoffeemorecoffee · 28/04/2012 16:19

Hi op. Sorry to hear what your going through. I'm going through the same today.

It so painful and very heavy. Have spent day in pjs with blankets on sofa. Watched a movie with the dc.

We are having a takeaway and wine later. Been taking painkillers but not really helped tbh.

My advise is rest, eat chocolate, snuggle up and be indulgent! That's what I'm doing.

Tomorrow I will move on.

((((hugs))))

Oh congratulations Chunky I like stories like yours! We had not actually planned to ttc for another 6 months. Might now review the situation but probably best not to make a decision about that until after this CP is over.

I am absolutely incorrigible for early testing Blush, wasn't even ttc this time but obviously I knew we'd taken a silly risk (which turned out to be more of a risk than we thought as I suddenly went and ov'd much earlier than usual). Then had spotting very similar to with DS so I just had a feeling and did a two-years out of date test that I found in the cupboard, very stupid idea cause then I had to go and buy more tests to confirm. And if I hadn't used those super sensitive Superdrug tests it would probably have been BFN anyway. I ought to know better.

morecoffee really sorry you are going through similar :( ouch. I'm waiting for bleeding to properly get going. Hope it's over quickly for you and that you feel better soon. Good luck if you're still ttc another DC.

Thanks Destiny we were actually TTC but only since December (we have a 2yo) & hoped that it would be as quick as it was with DD, so it was v disappointing for it to end so suddenly (as I'm sure it is for everybody regardless of the circumstances). Good luck whenever/if you start TTC :)
