Can / does flying delay ovulation?

My period is 2 days late. Around the time I would have been due to ovulate I took a few flights. Could this be the reason for a later period?

Not really sure, but I know flying has made my AF arrive a few days early, so it certainly has an effect.

Thank you, I don't want to waste the one test I have in the house on a BFN!

I'm in the same situation sticky except I've been peeing on sticks like a mad woman Grin Alas, to no pink line. (Other than the faint smudgy one that showed up 4 hours later when I fished the test from the trash...!)

I was flying internationally (with a pretty large time difference) around the time of OV...not sure when it actually happened but I'm desperately hoping it was delayed enough from travel stress/time zone changes and I'll get a much-wanted surprise BFP.

In reality I think I probably OVed about 2 days before we DTD but I'm avidly symptom spotting and have felt more wonky than usual (bit of nausea, sore nipples, etc), so...maybe it's possible???

Definitely possible that travel delayed ovulation. Did you notice any other signs of ovulation during your cycle? Like ewcm? Might help you to work out when you ovulated? I'd leave it a couple of days and test or retest in the bunny boiler's case! to see what the pee sticks say.

I found that it brought mine forward by 3 days.
I flew on about day 5 and then back on day 11.
Both flights were 10 hours with an 8 hour time difference.
I imagine it depends on where you are in your cycle.

I really shouldn't even be testing until Monday and it's probably highly unlikely I'm diffed but I'm menkulling anyway (as you must be as well, Faithy?!)

Oops - typed Monday but meant Wednesday.

Oh yes, I haven't been this menkul since I had my chemical pregnancy LP! sorry to explain OP AF is due tomorrow, my chart looks very promising and I feel quite ropey! Just waiting til I feel ready to POAS!

LauraBunnyBoilerPalmer · 30/04/2012 22:05

I've been following your chart Faithykins - three cheers for the temps! (Now give us what we want, Universe...)

5 days late now, BFN. I do normally notice when I ovulate and note it and I wasn't 100% sure I did this month. I noticed some signs a week later than usual but was unsure if I was ovulating or not. If it was just late ovulation then I should get my period on Thursday. Will try and leave it until Friday to test. But I did go and buy a pack of 3 tests yesterday!

It would be an unplanned but not exactly prevented very happy surprise. I am planning on more actively ttc this summer. Will soon see if that's necessary or not!
