Anyone suffered fertility problems and recurrent miscarriage? Did you get a diagnosis? Did you have a sucessful pregnancy?

I was wanting some advice and I guess a success story would be nice too! We have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility and have had 3 mc's since we started ttc over 2 years ago. It took us 11 months to conceive first pg, mc at 7 weeks. 2 weeks to conceive second preg, mmc at 11 weeks. Then 11 months to conceive most recent pg (after 2 months on clomid, awful) then sucess on first go iui. Sadly we just had another mmc at 9 weeks(after seeing a strong heartbeat at 6 and 7 weeks).
We have had basic nhs fertility and miscarriage tests and nothing identified. We have apps coming up at mc clinic and fertility clinic and I am looking for advice as to what to do next. Do we push for extra tests? We have 2 more iui rounds and 1 ivf, should we go straight to ivf?
Has anyone been in a similar position? Did they get to the botto of the problem (I am sure the fertility probs and mcs are linked).
Please give me some hope as trying v hard to be positive but it's so hard. We are desperate to be parents!

Sorry to hear about your m/c's and all that you're going through. I have no experience but just bumping for you, hopefully someone will come along with some positive experiences. Good luck.

11 years ttc
7 mcs up to 22 months to concieve, sometimes 3 months only.

Every test known to man at a reoccuring mc specialist centre. All normal.

Treatement during one pregnancy with hormone injections, asprin high dose folic acid..still mc.

In the end, they told me that they simply do not know why 80% of miscarriages occur. They have no answers and that there is too little research into this awful problem.

Good news is, after 2 mcs i had my gorgeous little boy....

chin up, tits out, smile and keep going girl, dont give up because there is no reason why you will not strike lucky. You do not know what is around the corner.

I had nine early mc with no reason found. It took me 7 years to get pregnant again, but then I'd had a diagnosis of PCOS and had my ovaries drilled. That pregnancy ended at 22 weeks due to incompetent cervix. We decided enough was enough and settled down to life as just me and DH.
FF two years and, three weeks after our arrival in a foreign country I got a BFP.
DD was safely delivered by ELCS after being stitched in.
I think you need to talk to your consultant about where to go straight for the IVF. Maybe give the other method another go and save your IVF attempt.

Thank you all for responding. tight and rip it was particularly good to hear your happy endings, so sorry that you had such a terrible time getting there. I am in awe of those who continue to find the strength to keep going with it all. I thought after 3 mc's I would throw in the towel and look at other options. However I now want to give it another go.

Aww thanks faith. I hope you are doing ok too. I kind of flit in and out of these threads as sometimes they make me feel loads better about this whole ttc business but sometimes when I am not feeling so strong they can make things worse. I may pop over to the hut at some point to say hello!

Well it's been rather doomy gloomy but things are on the up for some of us, you're welcome any time!
I'm still plugging away but our issues appear to have been reversed so I'm rooting for a bfp soon!

Jemima so sorry to hear of your mc history - so painful and so unfair. I'm pleased you've had all the Nhs tests as that is a positive step.

I've just read Emma cannons baby bible - which I found really helpful. It's packed with practical things you can do and a process to follow prior to any treatment. There's also a book called 'is your body baby friendly' i havent read his one but have read many reviews on it. Both of these are on amazon.

In terms of specialist treatment I've heard that mr raj rai is a mc specialist and I'm sure you could find him via google. He is London based.

Last but not least, there is a belief that our immune system can contribute to mc. There are a number of tests and treatments which are said to help. Many clinics offer this although it's fairly specialist - there are many threads on fertility friends but this one is very comprehensive (www.fertilityfriends.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=242395.0). I've spent some time looking into this for myself, let me know if you have any questions. I'd be happy to help if I can.

I'm so sorry for your losses. I had recurrent miscarriage testing which led to a diagnosis of antiphospholipid syndrome. In the next pregnancy I was treated from very early on with aspirin and heparin injections and my baby boy is now 13 days old. I would push for any tests that you can get and ask to be referred to a specialist miscarriage centre if you are still at the stage of being treated at your local hospital. On the m/c board there is a recurrent m/c thread, a lot of people on there are undergoing investigations and treatment and may be able to give you more specific advice.
