have i ovulated?

Hi there, newbie here, ive read some threads and you all seem very supportive Im wondering if you could help a newbie: Im currently on CD21. been checking cervix and CM throughout the month. also been doing opks since CD7. I normally have a 35 (ish) day cycle. So far ALL opks been utterly -ve . Had EWCM for last 2/3days. so ignored opks and took advantage of DH and DTD anyways. This mornings EWCM had fresh (v small) blood streaks in it. Is this a good sign? Have I ovulated? even tho ALL opks utterly -ve?

You will normally ovulate somewhere between 10-18 days before your next AF arrives (average is 14 days). So if you're cycles are fairly regular and usually about 35 days as you've said, then you can expect to ovulate at some point between days 17-25, if this cycle is following the same trend as previous ones. EWCM is definitely a good sign, showing you will probably be ovulating in the next few days. I'm not 100% clear how OPKs work - I've never used them myself, but I do know that sometimes people end up with lots of negatives, or get a high but not a peak, due to not testing frequently enough or urine being too dilute. So I think your timing's about right, for your best chances of conceiving you should be DTD every other day at the moment. Good luck!

Been using IC dipsticks. everyday since CD7. last few days _ 2/3 times a day. last month line grew nicely darker towards OV, then tested with CB digi and got a smiley on CD17. sadly no BFP as period arrived on CD27.

I dont overdilute (never been a big drinker - dont do tea or coffee) TMI - urine always very yellow. Generally do 2nd morning urine and around 2pm. on 3rd test, (yess, im an addict!) usually around 5pm.

I honestly dont know how i could have missed a surge at all! unless there wasnt one... but googling blood in EWCM seems to be a good sign of ov.

any thoughts?

Yes, pink tinged Ewcm is meant to be good. I find that I need to use 2 of those cheap OPK strips, one at about 2/3 pm and another at about 7 pm. Also sometimes the +ve takes more than the recommended 5 mins to show, more like 10 or 15 mins. My charts confirm that the sticks showing these +ves were correct, I.e. my temp rise is 2 days later.

So I think that today's cm suggests that you are very close to ovulating. I would SWI every day until your cm has dried up for a couple of days.

• im obviously too impatient! i need to wait longer, thats probably how i missed the positives. presuming it was positive at some point.i gave it maybe 5 mins tops .

TMI - Cervix now firm (was soft) but still high and has turned watery rather than EWCM. so presume fertile time over - but at least timing of SWI was well timed (thur,fri,sat)... fx'd.
