I'm sitting here staring like an idiot!! Didn't catch the lh surge last month abdbim currently cd 28 so must ovulate a lot later than most, we thought it was around cd 19 so been getting busy at the wrong time! Praying this is our month and we get our first bfp :)

First time I used them I got my smiley on cd18 - was so relieved!

Tried again at 8pm still was defo a sense of relief! Thought we'd missed it this month as day 28 and had af type cramps this am which was too early for me as last cycle was 44 days average is 33! Tested on a whim and had a little bit of cm look more liked under cooked egg white as opposed to raw haha x

the follicular phase (first half of the cycle) is the bit that can be all over the place - generally speaking, its the luteal phase that is around the same each month, about 14 days. Although it can be anything from 10 to 16 days. less than 11 days makes things more difficult because there isnt enough time for the egg to travel from ovary, be fertilized, and implant before lining sheds.

so if you normally have an average of around 35, then you wouldnt ov until at least cd20... this cycle was going to be a very long one - 28 + 14 = 42!

Thanks odoltol that's the clearest ive ever seen it explained always been mythed by the 'luteal' phase as impossible to know unless you know for certain you ovd, am hoping I have the smiley and cm are good signs, shows the last two months we were doing it at the wrong time as had been going at it from day's 18-22 used conceive plus and an instead cup too! x

Great.... I'm now worrying my luteal phase won't be long enough? Average cycle is 33 days but last one was 44? I've read about things you can do to lengthen your luteal phase so will try that if this isn't our month, fingers crossed for all of us
