Just wanted to recomment a little gadget I have called the Isis Scope

Its a fertility microscope - you lick the lens, read the result (spots is not fertile, fern structures mean fertile) You can use cervical mucus too if you've just brushed your teeth or smoked, drunk wine etc...!

Anyway I bought one 18mths ago and have a 9 month old daughter now! It looks exactly like a lipstick so you can carry it about easily and at about £20 and reusable is a lot cheaper than buying loads of ovulation tests as I was.

This just really helped me so thought I'd pass it on! Babydust to all.... *

How difficult was it to read?

time4tea · 09/02/2006 13:13

I was thinking of getting Persona - how is this gadget different from the sticks you wee on etc... how long were you waiting? I've been trying for 10 months (since my ds was one) and it is driving me nuts, we got pregnant immediately last time..

slinkstah · 09/02/2006 16:03

I have to say i agree, they are fab. i got pg very quickly using an ov microscope, it was easy to read, and told you before you were ov not after you ov like the sticks and bbt.
ferns lasted for about 4 days which i bd like mad, when ferns were the most tightly packed i knew it was ov day
i would recommend trying an ov microscope, good luck to TCCers

thanks Rubymummy, have just sent off for one - the magic of the internet! - will keep you posted.

Thanks again for the tip, and thanks for the babydust

No probs - good luck! I waited a year for my dd and every month was awful getting AF. Am keen for another straightwaway - too scared to go back on pill in case I have to wait another year after coming off it. DP sceptical...! Anyway the scope is great because the ferns get increasingly more obvious so you know whehn you are approaching most fertile time as well as ov day.
Anyway good luck and babydust! xx

I have just got one and it looks great, so much like a lipstick!

I actually find it really interesting looking into it to see if there are any patterns, sad I know!

Here's hoping it works for me then.

Fabmummy · 16/02/2006 16:56

opps and of course I hope it works for everyone else using one as well....

Missmibaby · 16/02/2006 17:22

I got one this week - still waiting for AF so I can start teh cycle all over again and see my little ferns!!

slinkstah · 16/02/2006 17:44

you might be able to see ferns close to your af too, as people have a small estrogen surge just before af. i used my ov microscope to predict af aswell as ov
also i tested just before af was due when i was pg but before bfp and had an very unusual fern pattern(really big but thin ferns very spaced out)- dunno whether this will be the same for everyone but i reckon it might be able to predict pg early too

wanted to pass on my experience, goodluck

time4tea · 16/02/2006 18:09

I like checking mine too, it is a neat little toy. However, I'm on CD 16 and no sign of any ferns, still random spots when I look... good luck all
