Recurrent miscarriage... you can just be really, really, really unlucky

Just wanted to give a bit of hope to some of you who have been going through the same torment of miscarriage as I have. For me this has meant 3, maybe 4 missed miscarriages over the past 2 years, the last one tested positive for Down's. On turning 40 I was running out of hope and energy, and just about when we were on our last attempt we managed to have a pregnancy that looks like it might just be hanging on in there. I'm now 20 weeks and so far so good, except for the continuous anxiety and paranoia something is going to go wrong again.
One miscarriage is unlucky but, as we all know too well, unfortunately is very common. Two miscarriages is really, really unlucky and three is really, really, really unlucky - but it can just be about bad luck.
Sending all those out there ttc after miscarriage a cyberhug and lots of positive vibes for the future... hang on in there.

Thanks for sharing your story and congratulations! I've had three mmcs as well, but I do have a daughter so I feel very lucky. TTC #2 at the moment, and after 2 mmcs in 15 months, we are losing hope a little bit, but it's wonderful to know that it has happened for you and that restores my hope a little bit too!

Did you have any tests or treatment for your mcs?

silly, that's great to hear, thank you for posting.
I am just recovering from my third miscarriage in 14 months and can't see the light at the end if the tunnel at times. You have given me a bit more hope.
All the best for the rest if your pregnancy and congratulations.

Just to add to the pile.

Have had 5 MCs, 3 MMC around 12 weeks and 2 early losses. Have been TTC#2 since June 09. Testing showed nothing wrong, but am now 44 so age clearly a factor. Am now 15 weeks and have had positive scans and really low risk nuchal results.

I was literally about to throw in the towel, and remember too well the monthly cycle of disappointment and hope and stress.

I won't relax until I'm holding this baby in my arms and I'm taking nothing for granted, but am starting to believe that this time I might be lucky.

Best wishes to all of you TTC after MC.

I have had 11 miscarriages, I have had every test known to man and the medical diagnosis on my notes says "unlucky". I had DS aged 39, so I consider my self very.

Wish you luck.
